How are the FCS playoff venues, to include the championship game determined? ODU has sold out every game (19,800) this year and I am hopeful they make the playoffs.
They are determined by a bid process. Each team submits their bids, and then the team with the higher bid basically “buys” a home game. However, the top 5 teams are seeded, and from what I understand, they only have to meet the minimum bid amount (which is very small) to get a home game. When two seeded teams meet, the higher seed gets the home game.
