Beau Baldwin to Montana?
Re: Beau Baldwin to Montana?
I was told he was interested until the Missoulian spilled the beans and he then backed off.
Sounds like he will be making bigger bucks soon. Good for him.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair or fucking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. Al Swearengen

Beau Baldwin to Montana?
Not saying we won't take a step back, but probably not as much of one as you think. We generally don't replace entire coaching staffs when there's a change made at HC. Baldwin was Wulff's OC. High probability that an internal hire is made if Baldwin leaves. Entirely different situation than Pflugrad, etc.Grizalltheway wrote:You're right, I don't get how Eastern fans can tell us we might struggle after losing Pflugrad (which we did) but then turn around and act like it'll be a completely seamless transition from Baldwin to whomever the new guy is. Baldwin deserves all the credit in the world for what he's accomplished. But he will be the first to tell you that he had a solid base to work with.

Also QB's. Dont forget QB's. And oh yeah; receivers.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:We were doing those things with Wulff. Griz said the same **** then. When Baldwin eventually leaves, we will replace him with another great coach. It's what we do.Grizalltheway wrote: And you did those things once you got Baldwin as your head coach. No one said it would be a seamless transition; even Baldwin's first year was 6-5. But to insinuate that if Baldwin left EWU would become a perennial .500 team or worse is fucking laughable.Grizalltheway wrote:You're right, I don't get how Eastern fans can tell us we might struggle after losing Pflugrad (which we did) but then turn around and act like it'll be a completely seamless transition from Baldwin to whomever the new guy is. Re: Beau Baldwin to Montana?
Yeah. Sure thing. One season with less than 6 wins and two seasons TOTAL with less than 7 wins in 26 years. EWU? 16 seasons with less then 7 wins in that same time span with half of those less than 6 win seasons. In the Griz worst 5 year span in 25 years, with all the bullshit, multiple coaching changes, investigations and upheaval we STILL went 42-21 while EWU experienced it's BEST 5 year span in school history and went 50-15. Ironically, if you take away the Griz/EWU matchups the Griz and EWU have the almost the SAME RECORDS over the past 5 years (41-16 vs 45-14).Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:You would know.AZGrizFan wrote:![]()

Yes there is. It's probably the top "program" in FCS. For sure in the top 2 along with North Dakota State. I'm talking about in terms of consistency, fan support, etc.
Last year Eastern Washington finished with an average home attendance of 7,822 vs. Montana's 24,380. BTW North Dakota State averaged 18,622. For some reason I'm having difficulty finding attendance stats to date for this year at the NCAA site but I'm sure the basic picture is the same.
Montana, as a program, simply has more potential than Eastern Washington does. It is what it is.
And before WA-Griz, Montana averaged what? 5K at Dornblatter?
