Hogan wins! Truly amazing that a white male Republican could beat a black dem in the People's Republic.

Congrats 89! :thumb:

Will they repeal the Rain Tax now?
Great result! It shows that O'Malley's coattails were very short. Many exit polls showed voters wouldn't vote for his successor. O'Malley's presidential chances are officially in the toilet, and the Hildabeast would be an idiot if she made him her Veep choice.

The local TV news types in Philly trumpeted the win of Tom Wolf over incumbent Tom Corbett as governor of PA, ignoring that Corbett was a historically bad candidate who kept tripping over his own dick. That was the only Donk pickup in a governorship. Once PA gets a pantload of Wolf's planned tax increases, they'll give him the boot after one term. :twocents:

Cory (a black man from Prince George's County, Maryland): Yeah, well Maryland needed it. They been hitting us with so many taxes.

Me: Oh, you voted for Hogan?

Cory: Nah man, I voted for Brown.

Me: Oh OK, gotcha.

I just walked away without pushing the absurdity of the conversation.

Well, Wolf will at least get a chance to see what he can do. Corbett did lose the election probably years ago - the guy couldn't muster an explanation for what he was doing or why people should support him. Even the state GOP didn't like him. And his reluctance to impose even a modest extraction tax on the shale mining just boggles the mind and let Wolf erroneously say that those businesses weren't paying any taxes.

But yes, Wolf will find himself in some difficulty as the educational funding in the state will continue to be difficult. Corbett at least righted the ship there, and while Wolf said he cut spending all Corbett did was fix the shenanigans that Rendell had played with the books. Of course, Corbett lacked the political skill to converse about that with the electorate so he's rightfully out of a job come January.

What I couldn't get past were Mrs. Corbett's brown, crooked bottom teeth. Why in hell would they put her in a TV ad? I don't even like that shylock Wolf, but I would have voted for him based on Corbett's demonstrated lack of judgement in choosing a wife and/or refusal to help her get that grill fixed.

I didn't vote - I had some more pressing things to take care of anyway. Not that anyone was going to oust Haley or Lingay Gayham as incumbents.

More on Ernst:
Ernst sashayed her way into the hearts of Iowa-nanas (Iowidiots?) with the help of the local press who found her saying :

that Obama has “become a dictator” and suggested he should be impeached; told an NRA convention that she would be willing to take up her Smith & Wesson against the government “should they decide that my rights are no longer important”; spoken and voted in favor of state nullification of federal laws; said she still believes there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq when we invaded in 2003; and given credence to the notion that there is a United Nations-driven conspiracy called Agenda 21 that is, as she put it last year, set on “moving people off of their agricultural land and consolidating them into city centers, and then telling them that you don’t have property rights anymore.”
…to be bo-ring as hell. Tell us about castrating pigs after stunning them senseless with your horrific laugh!

So now America has their first Alex Jones Republican because Tea Party Republicans are so passé.

As a bonus — since Bachmann will be taking her delightful Marcus with her — Ernst will be dragging her own ‘ball and chain’ to DC with her by the name of Gail (IT IS TOO A MAN’S NAME) and he seems… charming:

Gail Ernst drew criticism recently over Facebook posts that were made public, in which he called Hillary Clinton a “lying hag,” former homeland security secretary Janet Napolitano a “traitorous skank,” and joked about shooting ex-wives (he is divorced from his first wife). He said:

What do you do if you see your ex running around in your front yard screaming and bloody? Stay calm. Reload. And try again.

The page has now been made private, and these screenshots were obtained by Democratic operatives and shared with the Des Moines Register while still visible to the public.

This forced Joni to thoroughly chastise him for saying things with his outside voice that are best kept as something private between a man and a woman to be used as intimate pillow talk during rough sex.

Gail (MAN’S NAME STILL, YOU GUYS) also mea culpa-ed, saying “I would like to apologize for the inappropriate comments I have made on Facebook, which I deeply regret. It is not the respect that women deserve or the example I want to set for my daughters.”

So, it’s all cool now.

Together they seem like your typical nice mid-western couple who totally don’t have a kidnapped-hitchhiker sex dungeon under their farmhouse that echoes with the sounds of weeping and creepy laughter, upsetting the cows and making them to refuse to give milk.

They should fit in well in Washington.

But, here we go...the Left was just spanked for their left wing stupidity, and instead of realizing it and moderating, they decide to go for the personal attacks. More tolerance. :dunce:

You can give Penn State alums a good deal of credit for sending Corbett to the unemployment line. His role in the Paterno firing, his refusal to prosecute Sandusky despite considerable evidence and his connection to the Second Mile Foundation turned out the Penn State vote. Even lifelong Penn State Republicans voted against that fucker.

South Carolina has a pretty reliable band of blue, separating the Low Country from Upstate. It's no surprise that a drooling idiot like Clyburn can keep getting re-elected.
