I'm also wondering how this fits into the mission of the school for science, mathematics and engineering.

I like the history story where FDR lied to Americans about the Germans so he could continue his Presidency and perpetuate his embezzling activity...BlueHen86 wrote:LeadBolt wrote:I'd like to know what the readings that the students were given said about Hitler and Bush before deciding whether this was an exercise in critical thinking or political propaganda. On Tuesday, as McKinley Middle School students worked on a unit about war and peace
According to the article, the students were studying war and peace. That sounds like history to me. We still teach history right? I don't see why this is a big deal, unless you are a conk lemming like Tman, DSUSucks or FuckU.

What is the educational value of comparing Bush to Hitler? You could compare Hitler to Lenin, Stalin, Churchill, Mao, etc. It might not be blatant but I would guess that the teacher is pushing propaganda which is completely inappropriate. I would love to see the responses and how they were graded. It's a subjective question so there is no way the teacher could give someone a poor grade if they made the effort.BlueHen86 wrote:LeadBolt wrote:I'd like to know what the readings that the students were given said about Hitler and Bush before deciding whether this was an exercise in critical thinking or political propaganda.
