You want to worship fake crap, fine. But don't use that same fake crap to try and change laws, asshole.

If you don't want me to say bad things about your religion then stop trying to use it to change public policy.
Since it works it's way in so much, perhaps you can give me 5-10 examples of law based on religion in the US. Should only take you a minute.

Hobby Lobby comes to mind...... whether they're succeeding or not we have plenty of religion-driven lawmakers continually seeking special treatment for members of one religious cult over the other religious cults.

Technically this is preventing a law from infringing on a religious belief. Don't forget it's not just freedom from religion.

Can't brew beer above 4% ABV in Utah, nor can you purchase it before 10 a.m., thanks to the Mormon cocksuckers. :ohno:

That's why I don't live there. ;) Most blue laws are VERY old and if anything they are disappearing, not increasing.

Used to work for a company with a branch in Spanish Fork, UT, and I'm not joking when I say that Salt Lake City is the most boring city in our fair nation, as in reading Ayn Rand boring.

Yeah, I used to go there every six weeks for work and I would have to agree, although I do remember brewers making higher than 4% abv beer.

If you don't want me to say bad things about your religion then stop trying to use it to change public policy.
And what do you propose they use?
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

On the Hobby Lobby thing:

Remember what is going on to begin with. We have the Federal government telling private employers that they have to provide health insurance to employees. That's absurd. There's no way that's consistent with the what this Country was supposed to be about. No way it's really supported by the Constitution as it was written and as it was intended. If you'd have gone to any point in time when Constitutional language was being written and ratified and suggested to the people involved that what they were doing gave the Federal government the power to tell private employers that they had to provide their employees with insurance they'd have said you are nuts.

Meanwhile we have an explicit Constitutional amendment saying Congress shall make no law prohibiting the free practice of religion. How can you possibly square a law requiring that someone provide something to someone else in violation of their religious beliefs with that? You can't if you're intellectually honest. It should not even be a question.

And no this is not like, say, someone saying their religion calls for human sacrifice and therefore they can sacrifice somebody. Human sacrifice is a positive attack on somebody else. That's a lot different than saying somebody HAS to PROVIDE something to somebody else in violation of their beliefs. You're not attacking somebody by opting not to give them something.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Logic and common sense.
To use logic you have to have premises. Where do you propose the premises come from?

Actually to use common sense you have to have premises too.

Call me next time you're around and I'll show you the good stuff, assuming you like outdoor recreation, great live music, and kick ass Mexican food. If you're one of them simpering east coast elite types like your handle suggests, I might be able to hook you up with the local chess club. :thumb:
