Just as an update thinking about this topic, today while I was on the road I heard Limbaugh describe that study Col Hogan posted on earlier this week that failed to find sufficient evidence to say there's an association between eating saturated fats and heart disease. In this case I'd already heard about it. But if I hadn't and I wanted to talk to people about it I'd have Googled it then cited whatever sources I found doing that instead of telling people I heard Rush Limbaugh talk about it.
Earlier this week I heard a couple of good nuggets on Liberals doing ridiculous things. One was the Minnesota Senate voting to rename "Asian Carp" to "Invasive Carp." Googled it and, sure enough:

It’s a response to concern by some people that the current term casts people from Asian cultures in a negative light.
That speaks for itself, I think.
Another one was the National Education Association and the Center for American Progress announcing concern over a diversity gap between public school teachers and their students. Googled it and, sure enough:
