The PROPER move is to forgive the tax debt. For just $6.30, it's clear that she's not a true "tax cheat."

Again, at what level do you forgive?
As I said above, my level is $6.93. You can translate into rubles, Russian.

Tax sales have fees for processing the paperwork. The govt makes money.
Even though you have lawyers, multiple gov't employees, real estate professionals, and bankers involved? Jeez.

No, the proper move isn't to forgive the debt. I agree, to do this over $6.30 is asinine, but if she did receive 3 letters, then she had more than enough time to scrap together that money. Maybe someone could have called her and taken care of this. Instead, the Gov't sold her house, for way below market value, to obtain $6.30, and returned the bulk of that money to her.

What is the limit for you? At which point is it okay/not okay?
At the point to where the tax balance was paid. According to the article, the $6.30 was interest. If you just have to have that $6.30, levy her bank account for $6.30. Problem solved.

Whoever pulled the trigger on levying the property over a $6.30 interest balance needs to get repeatedly gang raped in a dark alley with a telephone pole.

There's an idea. How about drive to her house and ask for it. JFC. :ohno:

That was the purpose of the letters. It's not the Tax Commissioner's job to hold the taxpayer's hand. You give them notice and a deadline. If they don't comply, you start seizing assets.

You need to be taxed at twice the rate as a normal person because your mind is in a place where you will be needing twice the amount of social services to keep you alive.

Wrong word choice there, Cluck. "You need" in the spot where "you OUGHT" would be correct. Your bogus OPINION about what should happen to me does NOT translate into a freaking NEED.

No, you need to be taxed at twice the rate. It would sooth your conscience, because deep down inside, you know you are a drain on everyone else. I'm simply filling in your need for intervention...while you responsibly pay for it. :thumb:

Man up...pay your fair share.
