He has an interesting and good opinion, but like everyone else not close to the situation (aka. almost everyone), he probably doesn't have all the details to make a fully-informed analysis.
Umm...did you not take American history in high school? :?
Umm...why would he take American History?

In general, I don't think the Secretary of State gets too much written about them in history books. I'm sure he's mentioned in a paragraph or two, but it's probably in passing. I mean, I doubt most people can name Secretary of States that retired more than a decade before that person was born. Hell, I can't recall any Secretary of State before Colin Powell without looking it up.
For the most part you're right. The biggest exception is probably William Seward because of Seward's Folly.

I would rank Kissinger up there with Bismarck as two of the greatest diplomats/statesman of the 19th/20th centuries.

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Obama will stay in Afghanistan until they become the 59th state.

That dumb cu*t probably couldn't find that country on a globe without his puppeteers help. Obama is incompetent and he is not a leader. :dunce:

This thread is about the war criminal Henry Kissinger. Plenty of time to discuss your obsession with Obama during his third term. :coffee:

And I think you still don't understand that Obama WANTED to stay in Iraq...but we were also kicked out (following Bush's original timetable, mind you). :coffee:

The more you know... :thumb:
At this point, I don't really GAF who wants to stay there and who doesn't as long as I can keep bashing Bush for 100% of it. Like you, I just want us to quit expending American blood and treasure in far-flung shitholes ASAP. :thumb:

While that's true, especially for Vice Presidents, Kissinger is a special case.

P.S. the SoS before Powell was equally important. Madeline Albright.

I think he is referring to Obama's 57 states, plus one previously unknown one, plus one more.
