He shat himself by not learning anything from the “red line” debacle of Syira. He should have kept his mouth shut then, he should have kept his mouth shut now. If he is going to make mistakes then fine, but making the same mistake over and over is just embarrassing.

red line debacle - conks are just mad we didn't kill more American troops in a Middle-eastern war we can't win.

The leader of the free world is supposed to just keep his mouth shut on an incident of this magnitude? Yeah, I'm sure radio silence from the White House would go over great with the conk crowd.

NO, the leader of the free world is supposed to STOP writing checks with his mouth that he's not willing to back up with actual ACTION....if he never meant to keep his "red line" promise, then DON'T MAKE IT. Spinless, chickedshit actions like that embolden tyrants like Putin to do exactly what he's doing now....he knows the Emperor has no clothes. It's really not that difficult of a concept to grasp....for those of us with a brain stem.

Just stop back pedaling. No one on here has advocated for us to take action (except SH  ). But it would be nice for Obama to stop threatening action if he has no intention of taking action. Savvy?

What military action has he threatened over this incident? All I've seen so far is regarding economic and diplomatic actions.

I just find the hysterics from the right on this amusing. As if a President Romney/McCain/Reagan would be able to do anything different.
What hysterics?

Obama is a failure and its isnt shocking to see him having his ass handed to him on the world stage again. Look at him, he isnt a leader, not intellectually, not physically....nothing about him is strong

If Reagan was President we wouldnt be in this mess and Putin wouldnt fu*k with Ron so it would be a moot point.

As noted above I disagree with the "...war we can't win" part. I don't think the United States has been involved in a war it couldn't win in its entire history.

But it's been involved in wars it didn't have the will to win; wars such that the United States population did not have the patience and persistence to win. Also there has been the "we will tie one hand behind our back" thing.

The truth is North Vietnam had no chance to win the Vietnam war so long as the United States was willing to do what it took to win. Didn't matter how much North Vietnam was willing to do. As long as the United States was willing to do what it took in terms of effort and persistence North Vietnam could not have won that war. And in that war is was more than just not being persistent. It was a "let's tie one hand behind our back" war where we would not go on the strategic offensive, invade North Vietnam, and depose its government.

Afghanistan is a war our enemy can't win unless we lack patience. But we lack patience. Same with Iraq.

So no, we are not in any wars we "can't win" nor have we been in any such wars. We just aren't always willing to do what it TAKES to win.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth

No, it isn't legit. What if Dubya had set off a small nuke to deter Russia? Would that allow Obama to do so (Answer: yes, Obama could use nukes even if Dubya had been vilified by the world for nuclear fallout...because Obama is God)? What is Dubya had sent troops into Georgia and incurred 3,000 dead and counting as we were still involved in fighting with Russia backed rebels (Answer: yes, Obama could suffer 3K casualties because he won a Nobel Peace Prize)? What if Dubya had our Navy Seals kill the Russian top government officials (Answer: yes, Obama could do that even if Dubya had an arrest warrant out for him for violating the Geneva convention's rule against assassinating government leaders because Obama is different and could declare Putin & Co. "terrorists" because Obama is the bestest of the best)? What if Dubya took a crap and decided he wasn't going to do anything (Answer: yes, Obama could do nothing and it will be said that he did the right thing even if Bush was said to be exposed as a big talker who could not get Mission Accomplished).

In the end, it doesn't matter what GB did, so Jon's question was simply another attempt by Jon to deflect from Obama's weakness and put some type of negative spin on Bushama.

Obama was a fool to open up his mouth and now it is Obushma, not Bush, that is responsible for his decision regarding what action he takes.
