I don't know the statistics (if I cared I would look it up), but I would guess that the shutdown, if anything, probably saved money.
Politicians who turned politicking into a career, and people realizing that voting for the guy who will give them the most free shit is what has ruined Washington and the country. That happened long before today's current crop of anal warts and entered office.

It "cost" us $24B aka $24B in missed revenue.

That's just in lost revenue, it didn't say anything about what was saved in operating costs.

No, because it took him 30 years of voting Republican and being an idiot before he finally saw the light and started calling himself a libertarian.

I'd vote for a corpse and a transvestite before I'd vote for Obama and his cronies. The McCain/Palin vote is looking better every DAY, my friend. I don't have to scrape any bumper stickers off MY car as my candidate isn't the one flushing 250 years of history down the toilet. :coffee:

So, let me see if I have this straight: Under McCain, we would have continued the bullshit policies of Dubya. Under Obama, we HAVE continued the bullshit policies of Dubya AND we have the added benefit of bankrupting the country with Obamacare.

Thanks, McCain wins by a landslide.

Quit being dramatic. Obamacare has not bankrupted the country. The 2 Wars have done more damage then this piece of legislation have. I think we all see the trend of Republicans gaining more seats in the house. Obama has already changed the ACA 14 times WITHOUT Congressional approval. Obamacare will continue to change if not get repealed within the next 4 -6 years.

You do know that wasting (or losing) money and "missed revenue" are two entirely different animals, correct?
Losing money takes revenues AND costs into consideration. As I said, the article you posted erroneously only points out to "lost revenue" and didn't mention a word about operating costs. If the operating costs were greater than the lost revenue, the shutdown would have been a net positive to the MONEY side of the equation.

I know it's Monday and two days before Christmas, but c'mon man. :ohno:

No, you said "wasted money" and then linked to an article about "lost revenue"...two entirely different things. In the process you tried to go D1betamale and call me out. I'm just setting the record straight. :kisswink:

Please show me where I said, "wasted money." I said missed revenue. I said Congress wasted taxpayer time and money with regards to the 40+ vain attempts to defund/repeal Obamacare. That was before you brought the cost of the shut down. :coffee:
You actually said "wasting money." I just said we missed out on revenue and then linked an article that pointed out some revenue we didn't collect during the shutdown.

Baldy, do you have any idea what we're even talking about anymore? You're talking around the subject and trying to confuse a person so that they give up trying to discuss something with you.

What, we have here, is a failure to communicate. I know you went to Pigs Ass University but come on dude.  In the sequence of events, I said time and money were wasted on symbolism i.e. the previously mentioned 40+ votes to repeal/defund Obamacare that had zero chances of passing. Then you asked/said you didn't know how much money the shutdown cost us. I replied that we missed out on $24B in revenue. You then said I was wrong that we lost that revenue. :dunce: Losing out on revenue, in my mind, is revenue we missed out on.
