BTW - I met up with a buddy of mine who was in town for work from Charlotte. Picked him up - he was wearing a The Citadel t-shirt. Asked him where he got it - said a regular **** of his was a Grad (and now a lawyer in Charlotte) I guess his buddy that went to The Citadel described the student population (at least back in the 90's as half gay
This may come as a surprise to you and Chitstain and the rest of you pinko communist cornholer greasy starfish munchers, but there have always been gay cadets and everyone knew they were gay and nobody messed with them. I can name 4 guys in my company alone in the 1980s. Nobody really cared.

There was no black no white, no gay or straight, only gray. The only thing I would dispute is the percentage. My company had 120 cadets, about 4-5 of whom were gay. That would be about the percentage across the Corps I would guess.

That % of gays fits with the general population of 2-4%.

This is the worst kind. Everybody knows I think having marriage between homosexuals is ridiculous and the fact that we're doing it shows the society has gone bonkers. But if the people of a jurisdiction do it through the political process so be it. If they want to be idiots let them be idiots. It is their right.

But when it's done through Judicial fiat that's a different matter. That is fundamentally wrong. It's done a lot in this country but it should not be done at all. And it doesn't even matter if the end is good. In this case the end is NOT good. But even if it were no end justifies the means of establishing social policy through Judicial fiat.

Nope - I love and respect everyone - except those who are intolerant of others.

I could care less if you are a racist/sexist/homophobic tool, just don't try to impose your warped morality on me.

Legalizing gay marriage only affects those that participate. Your hatred and bigotry affects others.

ABC study says 4%; Gates Study says 1.7%; Gallup study says 3.5%, thus 2-4% seems reasonable based upon empirical data or facts rather than unsubstantiated belief by those who have been indoctrinated, you know science vs. religion.

Being against Judicial fiat is VERY Libertarian. Judges are not supposed to be determining the direction of the society. They're stepping out of their role when they do that. Their job is, or at least it should be, to ask themselves whether or not the people that passed a certain law or ratified certain language to a Constitution understood what they were doing to require or prohibit a certain thing. They are not supposed to exercise their own opinion as to what is best or "just" at all. They are not supposed to impose any will at all. They are not supposed to worry about what they think is best.

But they are not like that. They are completely out of control.

Judges making policy is authoritarianism.

First of all, there is no "right" to have a relationship recognized as a marriage.

But aside from that, what you're doing is going to the "ends justify means" approach.

Being for judges making policy because you like the policy they make is like being for monarchy as a form of government because the King makes what you think are good decisions. The end does NOT justify the means. There is a fundamental problem with having judges impose their own will and it should not be tolerated.

If you don't think it should be the courts... who should decide what is and what isn't Constitutional?

The legislative branch? That would be a fuckup of epic proportions.

The executive branch? Talk about monarchy...
