Yes, when they take away rights, but this is about giving rights to people who didn't have them before.
First of all, there is no "right" to have a relationship recognized as a marriage.
But aside from that, what you're doing is going to the "ends justify means" approach.
Being for judges making policy because you like the policy they make is like being for monarchy as a form of government because the King makes what you think are good decisions. The end does NOT justify the means. There is a fundamental problem with having judges impose their own will and it should not be tolerated.
