I never had a problem with Dubya's frequent "vacations" to Crawford. As Ibanez said it's a stressful job and they need to have a clear head plus they're really never on vacation and work from wherever they are.

To Obama's defense, he didn't come from money the way Dubya did so he doesn't have a family ranch that he can retreat to. Obama's vacations are going to be more expensive as a result.

Bottom line - there are much bigger fish to fry when complaining about this administration and how they're handling things.
Being wrong about a topic is called post partisanism - kalm

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Thank you for your attention to this matter - UNI88

No, you are partisan. Your like Nixon in the sense that its not wrong if a Republican does it. You bitch about Obama relaxing and not slumming it at Disneyland. If he did go to Disney, how much you want to bet that you'd bitch about him closing the entire park for him and his family. People are damned if they do and damned if they don't in the POV of extremely partisan and narrow minded hacks such as yourself and every other extreme left or right winger.

Also, Marie Antoinette never said that. That mentality is more, to hell with the poor people. Marie, lavish as she was, gave generously to charities. That saying had been around and attributed to others before 1789.

I'm not a fan of Bush or Obama but I really don't give a **** about their vacations. These men have such a stressful job. Let them get out of Washington. They are never off duty so what does it matter? They pay a portion of Air Force 1 and many of their expenses (aside from security) so really what's it matter. I don't want a President being on the edge, with his finger on the Nuclear Button.
A fraction of 1% is a "portion" to you?

Would be like you staying in 5 bedroom oceanfront in Kiawah Island for a summer week, someone else paying for it, handing them a $20, and saying you paid for a "portion" of it..
It costs about $117k an hour for AF1. Presidents pay the price equal to the cost to charter a similar Boeing jet. Of course, there are discounts and such but still, he's the President. You are paying for his protection. It's something like that.

I hope a republican wins in 2016, just so I can watch you spin everything that is inherent to the office of the Presidency and not the individual President.

Sounds like you wish Obama received a paycheck and nothing more. Were you this critical of Bush?

I never mentioned Disneyland. You're confused.

Yes, I know she never said it. Plug in the expression and you'll come up with a slew of links saying she never said it. Still, it is a commonly used expression where if you use it most people know what you're referring to.

Wrong. It costs about 180k an hr:

Wrong- the POTUS only pays the cost of one 1st class ticket per family member..

1.4 billion in 2011 for AF1 in 2011. But we don't have enough $$ to pay for White House tours. Fed employees and civilian contractors are being furloughed. Heck, even the liberal NYT is talking about it.

Look, there is a cost to doing business. I'm not saying that it isn't a lot of money, but it's part of doing business. You're really barking nonsense at this point, Duke Dog.

POTUS can go anywhere he wants. He has a thankless job that is stressful as hell. I don't care if he or she is a Dem or Rep. He deserves 8 weeks per year.

Well, he can't afford time off but he deserves as much relaxation as he can get. He's the president, not a go, and therefore should use some common sense. Perception is everything. But I generally agree with you. This guy has a crappy job, let him play some golf or go swimming.
