I looked that up. The 2 EMTs were shot right near MUSC- one was killed and one survived. Damn-my younger sister was living in Charleston at the time and working at MUSC (she graduated from the College of Charleston). She may have mentioned it back then- I don't remember. I'll ask her.

I see the scumbag was soon caught and avoided the death penalty for what was described as cold blooded murders of the EMT and officer by pleading guilty but mentally ill. What a crock.

The guy walked right past Dennis and then doubled back and put a bullet right in his brain. Dennis was doing security at one of the cofc dorms and was listening to the racket on his walkie.

When we caught the guy there were about 4-5 cops on him and they were all drawn down and nobody shot the guy- that's 1

Then the solicitor basically lets the guy plead out- never even considered the death penalty or even bringing him to trial- that's 2

Two examples in one incident where what would have been predicted by the Sharptons and the Jacksons as happening to a black guy- didn't happen.

This guy was emboldened by the racemongers in Charleston like Dot Scott who basically said it was open season on blacks. So this guy and his buddies take it to heart and go looking for a cop to kill. In fact, over the two week period before the LaPage shooting they tried to trap a Mt Pleasant cop who was driving across the James Island connector on his way home from work. They sped past him, then got in front of him and slammed on the brakes trying to get him to pull them over. He didn't because he wasn't in Mt Pkeasant, and lucky for him.

This judge has certainly favored the prosecution throughout the trial. I wouldn't be surprised to see any potential manslaughter conviction get overturned on appeal. She has been on a mission since before the case started. She is the only reason there is any doubt left in Zimmerman's case.

Sadly, you're right about that and that is a huge problem.

This whole thing has been about emotion- not the rule of law. The prosecution has in no way proven beyond a reasonable doubt anything except that Zimmerman's story withstands judicial scrutiny. They are left with only an appeal to the judge to include anything Zimmerman could possibly be charged with as lessers... throwing shit against a wall hoping something will stick.

Sadly, the thugs in our area, and there are a shitload of them, will riot, destroy private property, loot, endanger law abiding peace loving citizens, and generally put our community into a bad light nationally when our local law enforcement and DA, Norm Wolfinger, have done nothing except follow the rule of law.

Our nation is a consititutional republic, not a democracy, and is a nation of laws, not of mob rule. Sadly, many in the case- starting with the President and working its way down through the Governor to the local City manager- have conveniently overlooked that and made this about emotion, not about the rule of law.

You, of all people with your career in law enforcement, should know and subscribe to that.
