Yes, they absolutely do when gauging how good a team is or can play. You don't just look at the final record.
AZ don't make me go through your posts and find your pre-game sentiments on @Sac 2011, SUU 2012, NAU 2012, Cal Poly 2010, Weber 2008, etc. Or what about Idaho State in 2009? Central Washington in 2008? North Dakota State in 2003?
Me too. That's why I have them at 9-3 and Davis at 3-9. But our team is still pretty young, and our coaching staff is such a wild card, that I see us dropping a road game or three. Maybe it will be UND instead of Davis. Who knows.
Here, I'll do this instead:
Opponent - chance of win
Appalachian State - 45%
@North Dakota - 65%
Oklahoma Panhandle State - 97%
@Northern Arizona - 60%
Portland State - 85%
@UC Davis - 60%
Cal Poly - 70%
Eastern Washington - 65%
@Sacramento State - 55%
@South Dakota 80%
Weber State - 90%
Montana State - 50%
Would come out to 8.22 wins on average
Now let's see your full predictions and/or %'s smart guys

You guys and your "no way"s. Think you'd have learned your lesson by now
I'm not saying we won't lose games. But to think we're going to lose BOTH of those games and yet somehow beat EWU AND MSU is ludicrous. If we lose both Sac and UCD, we all know we'll be getting a new coach.

Because like I said I trust our guys to get up for Cat/Griz more than I trust them in earlier games in CA. Plus both those teams have the revenge factor, which worked pretty well for us in 2011.

"Earlier"? UCD is our SIXTH game of the year! And Sac State is our NINTH...If we haven't figured it out by then Wa/Griz will have been burned down.
If we're going to lose a game early (aside from ASU, which obviously is a tossup), it might be @ UND, given what they did to us last year.

I'm glad I could do my part in turning this into an eGriz thread
Great. Mr. T will be by shortly to lock this puppy up.

65%? Greater chance of beating us than UCD? Is that something like 2-1 odds (I suck at math)?

I'll take that bet.
I mean, it's insane. By his #'s, Sac State is the third toughest game on our schedule and UCD is the 4th.
Blasphemy, I say.

Overall record 10-2 I believe CP fans have a lot to look forward to this year.
Cal Poly was a paper tiger last year. Fluffy record without a single difficult game on the schedule that they actually WON. Their FCS OOC schedule is fluffy again THIS year with non-scholly USD and an Ivy league school. Jim McElwain has Colorado State headed in the right direction and I'd be SHOCKED if they lost to Cal Poly...and ain't no way CP is beating Eastern. I predict 8-4 at best...I could see them losing to Sac State and even UNC as well.
Cal Poly beat a good NAU team on the road to earn a share of the Big Sky Championship. A team Montana lost to at home.
Cal Poly returns 18 starters off a 9-3 team. Looking forward to the game in Missoula. You will see this tiger has teeth. I hope to make the game.
As far as a fluffy OOC schedule we play two FBS programs including top 25 Fresno State and two FCS teams. Fans who are playing Oklahoma Pan Handle State should not cast stones on strength of schedule.
-UCD has a new coaching staff. Doubt they do much, let alone beat the Griz.
-Highly doubt we get swept by the Montana schools. We have a much more experienced and deeper OL than we did in 2011 against MSU, injuries notwithstanding. Plus a much more mobile QB. BLM was running for his life all game, and we couldn't run the ball. Back to losing for MSU in Cheney (and in Bozeman ).
-Discount our WR corps at your own peril. Everytime we lose an AA WR, another one fills his place. Everyone will know Cooper Kupp by the end of the year.

I think I was pretty clear that the OOC schedule I was talking about was the FCS schedule. You've got two cupcakes while we have App State. Let's not try to compare "counters".

Hmmmm.....paper tiger?
Was the Wyoming win Fluffy? How about at NAU?. At Fresno State does not seem fluffy to me? 2 FBS games and no DII games? Are the Griz going to exercise their supremacy over Western Oregon this year? I digress.
In fairness I see your point....but part of me feels like you may still be stinging just a bit from that embarrassing loss at SLO two years ago

Two years ago, your boys came up to Missoula and got spanked by JJ throwing the ball, and guess who's back this year?

Do they NOT teach reading comprehension at CPSLO? I said YOUR FCS OOC schedule is fluffy this year with a non-scholly and an Ivy school. Is that really that difficult to comprehend?
And for the record, that "embarrassing loss" was in 2010.

My reading comprehension has definitely been compromised with age and booze but you said more than FCS OOC and you said more than this year....paper tiger etc. Anyway, like I said, I understand your point.
Damn that Cal Poly win was 2010...like I said getting old. Now I remember that beating you put on us up in Missoula.... if you are able to do it again this year maybe make sure this guy doesn't show up ....he frightens the kids
