Yes, they absolutely do when gauging how good a team is or can play. You don't just look at the final record.

AZ don't make me go through your posts and find your pre-game sentiments on @Sac 2011, SUU 2012, NAU 2012, Cal Poly 2010, Weber 2008, etc. Or what about Idaho State in 2009? Central Washington in 2008? North Dakota State in 2003?

How about the last game against them, the year we were runner-ups?

Oops, looks like they had a 4th game against a playoff foe

http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=322800302" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Four playoff opponents, and an FBS. I dare say they were better than us last year :coffee:

They also got spanked at home by a terrible Portland State team.

Not to mention that by that reasoning, the Griz were really good last year, too, as we lost to three playoff teams by an average of one score.

Bottom line, I think the Griz have improved in the off-season much more than UCD has.

Me too. That's why I have them at 9-3 and Davis at 3-9. But our team is still pretty young, and our coaching staff is such a wild card, that I see us dropping a road game or three. Maybe it will be UND instead of Davis. Who knows.

Here, I'll do this instead:

Opponent - chance of win
Appalachian State - 45%
@North Dakota - 65%
Oklahoma Panhandle State - 97%
@Northern Arizona - 60%
Portland State - 85%
@UC Davis - 60%
Cal Poly - 70%
Eastern Washington - 65%
@Sacramento State - 55%
@South Dakota 80%
Weber State - 90%
Montana State - 50%

Would come out to 8.22 wins on average

Now let's see your full predictions and/or %'s smart guys :thumb:

I'm not saying we won't lose games. But to think we're going to lose BOTH of those games and yet somehow beat EWU AND MSU is ludicrous. If we lose both Sac and UCD, we all know we'll be getting a new coach. :lol:

Because like I said I trust our guys to get up for Cat/Griz more than I trust them in earlier games in CA. Plus both those teams have the revenge factor, which worked pretty well for us in 2011.

:? :? :? :?

"Earlier"? UCD is our SIXTH game of the year! And Sac State is our NINTH...If we haven't figured it out by then Wa/Griz will have been burned down.

If we're going to lose a game early (aside from ASU, which obviously is a tossup), it might be @ UND, given what they did to us last year. :ohno:

Here's how I see the Griz schedule:

App State - L (50% W chance)
@ North Dakota - W (65% W chance)
OKPSU - W (99.9999999% W chance)
@ NAU - L (60% W chance, but I don't think we go 11-1, so I picked loss)
PSU - W (80% W chance)
@ UCD - W (75% W chance)
CPSLO - W (70% W chace)
EWU - W (55% W chance)
@ Sac - W (65% W chance)
@ USD - W (75% W Chance)
Weber - W (80% W chace)
@ MSU - W (60% W chance)

I mean, it's insane. By his #'s, Sac State is the third toughest game on our schedule and UCD is the 4th.

Blasphemy, I say.

Overall record 10-2 I believe CP fans have a lot to look forward to this year.
Cal Poly was a paper tiger last year. Fluffy record without a single difficult game on the schedule that they actually WON. Their FCS OOC schedule is fluffy again THIS year with non-scholly USD and an Ivy league school. Jim McElwain has Colorado State headed in the right direction and I'd be SHOCKED if they lost to Cal Poly...and ain't no way CP is beating Eastern. I predict 8-4 at best...I could see them losing to Sac State and even UNC as well. :coffee:
Cal Poly beat a good NAU team on the road to earn a share of the Big Sky Championship. A team Montana lost to at home.

Cal Poly returns 18 starters off a 9-3 team. Looking forward to the game in Missoula. You will see this tiger has teeth. I hope to make the game.

As far as a fluffy OOC schedule we play two FBS programs including top 25 Fresno State and two FCS teams. Fans who are playing Oklahoma Pan Handle State should not cast stones on strength of schedule.

8-4 for EWU this year...but hoping for a solid 9-3 or 10-2.

Couple comments.

-UCD has a new coaching staff. Doubt they do much, let alone beat the Griz.

-Highly doubt we get swept by the Montana schools. We have a much more experienced and deeper OL than we did in 2011 against MSU, injuries notwithstanding. Plus a much more mobile QB. BLM was running for his life all game, and we couldn't run the ball. Back to losing for MSU in Cheney (and in Bozeman :lol: ).

-Discount our WR corps at your own peril. Everytime we lose an AA WR, another one fills his place. Everyone will know Cooper Kupp by the end of the year. 8-)

I think I was pretty clear that the OOC schedule I was talking about was the FCS schedule. You've got two cupcakes while we have App State. Let's not try to compare "counters". :coffee:

My prediction for Weber football

1. Stephen F. Austin- W I think we get at least one win vs the Southland this year

2. @ Utah- L When will these games end?

3. @ Utah State- L When will these games end? pt. 2

4. @ McNeese State- L Hopefully we are more competetive this time around

5. Sacramento State- W If there is one team we can beat in Ogden it's Sac State

6. @ Eastern Washington- L We seem to play these guys tough every time in Cheney, but they are tough to beat there

7. @ Cal Poly- L Can the Cats win on the road? Maybe not with this slate.

8. Montana State- L Another team we play tough year in and year out but can never seem to beat

9. @ Portland State- W/L Best chance at a road win, and we have had PSU's number as of late, will this year be any different?

10. Southern Utah- W Love this new rivalry, and the Wildcats re-take Stewart Stadium.

11. @ Montana- L never win in Missoula.

12. Idaho State- W Can anyone say 11 in a row?

3-9 Most likely, 4-8 possible, 5-7 generous. I'm leaning to 4-8 with wins over SFA, CSUS, SUU and ISU

Hmmmm.....paper tiger?

Was the Wyoming win Fluffy? How about at NAU?. At Fresno State does not seem fluffy to me? 2 FBS games and no DII games? Are the Griz going to exercise their supremacy over Western Oregon this year? I digress.

In fairness I see your point....but part of me feels like you may still be stinging just a bit from that embarrassing loss at SLO two years ago :kisswink:

Damn that Cal Poly win was 2010...like I said getting old. Now I remember that beating you put on us up in Missoula.... if you are able to do it again this year maybe make sure this guy doesn't show up ;)....he frightens the kids
