We have a disconnect somewhere. You've clearly implied twice now that because Johnson didn't get more votes, that proves Republicans hate conservatives. Is that not what you meant to say?
I answered kalm's question and offered a reason (GOP'ers despising convervatism) as to why Republicans may have just stayed home.

To answer your question...Nope. The fact that Republicans nominated a self-described and proven "progressive" is enough evidence to show that Republicans despise conservatives/conservatism. You can also look at the GOP's policies since 2000. Would you like me to list them again?

So then say that Gary Johnson has nothing to do with your claim that "Republicans despise conservatives/conservatism"... or you can admit you like crepes.

Check my explanation on the other thread. It should clear up any lingering confusion.

I believe he means that if Johnson had been the Republican nominee many in the party base would have stayed home rather than voting for him because Republicans despise conservatives/conservatism.

That's a non-defensible position, but I don't think that's what he meant, and I don't think that's even true.

He's definitely a better steward of other people's money.

Obama spent $14.13 per vote ($852.9m/60,333264 votes)
Romney spent $13.07 per vote ($752.3m/ 57547667 votes)
Johnson spent .99 cents per vote. ($1,124,080/1,139,562 votes)

Basically, I offered two options to answer kalm's hypothetical: 1) if GJ had been the nominee then GOP'ers would have still come out, even though they disagree with his vision, to vote against Obama--or, 2) if GJ had been the nominee then some GOP'ers may have stayed home because they disagreed with his vision. I don't know that either would have happened, and I stated as such. It was a hypothetical, so I simply offered two possible options to answer kalm's question.

Really? Now who's being obtuse?

One day I may value a letter more than policies/stances, but not yet. Johnson gave me a clear vision that differs from the status quo. :thumb:

There is no other way to read this than you either believe Republicans would not have turned out, or that you believe I think they would not have turned out. I can tell you that the latter is not the case. Had Johnson been the R nominee, he very well may have done better than Romney. I would have voted for him.

Wow. You are being intentionally dense today. Clearly I offered two options to the hypothetical question.

Unfortunately, there is another way to look at this. I offered two options, and then qualified the second option with a potential reason that Republicans might would just stay home is because they despise conservatives. I mentioned that I asked you why Republicans despise conservatives in another thread just to drive home that point.

I understand if you're itching to argue for the sake of arguing. But, you're reaching now.

I have been consistent with that point for months, but it's cool. In 2016 there will be another candidate with an R beside their name and you'll undoubtedly vote for that person. Who knows, maybe I will too.

I said over and over that they despise conservatism because they nominated a self-described and proven "progressive" and that their actions since 2000 prove they despise conservatism. The fact that they would not vote for a candidate like Gary Johnson (or any candidate with similar policies/stances) were he in the R primaries just helps further the point.

Good grief, I don't want to relive the whole thing again, but this post is exactly what got me going in the first place. You make one comment that is fine, but then follow it up with a "fact" that's not even approaching a fact and does further your point that I was arguing against.

Because they didn't vote for Ron Paul doesn't prove squat. For every good idea he had, he had a cooky one.
