#7 EWU vs. #16 Cal Poly Game Thread

Has EWU faced any Triple Option type teams lately?

Well they played Cal Poly last year in a amazing triple overtime contest...I believe the final was 53-51 EWU.

Winning that one would have been sweet but it was a hell of a game either way.

It was an epic game. I don't expect we'll see that kind of score this year, but hoping for another good one nonetheless. It's pretty much a must-win for us, so I expect our boys to let it all hang out on Saturday.

Sac's average attendance is higher than EWU's, though.

Barely. And only because of capacity. We're averaging over max capacity for the second straight year.

Sac: Games/Avg Per Game 4/9600 (21,195 capacity)
EWU: Games/Avg Per Game 3/9296 (8,600 capacity)

With the seating in both end zones, it will be quite a bit more than that. My guess is 9,500 to 10,000.

Nope. The 2004 pressbox and endzone seating upped it to 8600 from 7000. The only reason the UM/MSU games are over 10/11k is because of the temp bleachers trucked in.

We had a piss poor showing for the CP game. Absolutely pathetic showing. How we draw 12k for Homecoming against a winless Weber State team and then can't even crack 9k for a marquee matchup against CP is pathetic.

Yup, just goes to show how few Hornet fans showed up and decided to watch the Giants sweep the Tigers instead.
