You're working with engineers in a right-to-work state. Go to Seattle and make that comment to Boeing engineers.Ibanez wrote:Same here. In fact, I work with many Boeing engineers. Re: Are DEMS really this stupid???
For the love of Pete, none of the Engineering teams I work with are Union
We have 27 in house full time Engineers ( non-union)
and we Hire out - which is mostly the clowns I work with - on projects that represent stuff that isn't "Wheelhouse"
Wheelhouse is a term me use to describe "core competency" areas
So anyway we were developing some apt-X Bluetooth micro-Transceivers
Which is certainly NOT our Wheelhouse - and the team we hired recently were pretty much liberals across the board

Re: Are DEMS really this stupid???
My old man is an engineer, and I would describe him as apolitical more than anything. I get the feeling that most of them are too practical-minded to waste a lot of time on something as inefficient and superficial as modern American politics.Chizzang wrote:I work with Engineers - all day long - and have for years...It's what I do

Most have no common sense. At least the ones I work with.Grizalltheway wrote:My old man is an engineer, and I would describe him as apolitical more than anything. Do you mean no social skills? I don't think of myself, or other engineers that I know, as typically having a lack of common sense.
Re: Are DEMS really this stupid???
That too. I'mjust saying, the guys and girls I work with, seem to lack common sense. THere are exceptions (the Indians at the office) but a lot of them just lack it.CAA Flagship wrote:Ibanez wrote: Most have no common sense. At least the ones I work with.![]()

ACtually, the indians and the guy from MIT have common sense.

That does make me laugh though. Some 30 years ago I learned that you can learn a lot about people by looking at their shoes. I have been doing it ever since and it is a pretty good indicator of their way of thinking (often better than relying on their clothes). Style and quality of the shoes can tell you a lot about that person.

You are professional (white collar), conservative, and are more concerned about quality and style than comfort. You have a taste for expensive things and care about your appearance.Ivytalk wrote:I wear Brooks English, Bass and Allen Edmonds!CAA Flagship wrote:![]()

Re: Are DEMS really this stupid???
Style is important as well. But just going off of the manufacturer, this person is either careful with his money, or does not have a taste for the finer things in life. Comfort is likely more important than style. Could be a professional but not a high priced lawyer, CPA, insurance, etc. Comfort may be important to the high priced professional because this person is on his feet a lot (doctor, real estate professional, etc.).∞∞∞ wrote:What about Thom McAn's?CAA Flagship wrote: You are professional (white collar), conservative, and are more concerned about quality and style than comfort. The style will narrow things down further.
