That said, for FOOTBALL, BOYS HOOPS, and BOYS TENNIS, UNC is way below par.

You can go take a flying leap, too, kalm.

I'm actually more upset with GATW right now.

What's wrong with misogyny? It's a counter-balance to feminism which has been out of control of late. Balance is important, SH.SuperHornet wrote:Because he's playing Mr. Misogynist today.

Ryan's prediction of the future of the BSC
I'd say give UNC a little more time to prove their worth before sending them packing. Every conference has one or two teams that tend to be cellar-dwellars anyway. They do need to start improving, though.
I agree that UND would be a much better fit in the MVFC, but as long as they're in the Big Sky Conference I've got no problems with them. Time will tell if they stick around or not.
I still maintain that Idaho is a long-shot, but it's not outside the realm of possibility due to all the reasons states above.

True, but when they're the cellar dweller AND they're a geographic outlier, it's TO THE CURB for you!EWURanger wrote:I'd say give UNC a little more time to prove their worth before sending them packing. Still waiting for a mover upper to explain what the advantage of going FBS is....I'll wait....Staying at the FBS level merely to save face is a horrible idea, and for the sake of Vandals fans and alumni, their leadership is doing them a huge disservice if that is the prevailing mindset. Idaho football is a money loser, as evidenced by the three body-bag games it scheduled last year at Virginia, Texas A&M and BYU. It couldn’t even get a return date for BYU and will travel to Provo in back-to-back years, and will also play this year at LSU and North Carolina.
That is not a building block to success. It’s a ploy to keep the books balanced. In the 2009-10 school year, 51 percent of the revenue “generated” by the athletic department came from student fees, state coffers and the U of I itself.
Ticket sales, body-bag game guarantees, television money and conference revenue sharing from bowl games and NCAA tournament appearances? Just 21 percent.

Its sad when an FCS team like Weber State has to schedule 2 fbs money games a year to keep books balanced, but for an FBS team to need to schedule 3? that's a whole lot worse.
Idaho is in no better shape than any of the FCS teams west of the Mississippi. And Idaho's football stadium (16,000) is smaller than 5 Big Sky Schools And Weber's 17,500 is the smallest of those 5. It could have some great upgrades, but it is still small and no matter what kind of upgrades it gets, teams like BYU are still not going to travel to Moscow.

With the WAC losing Utah State and San Jose State to the MWC, and losing Lou Tech and UTSA to the CUSA, that leaves three WAC schools left.
N.Mex State
Idaho
Texas State
But hold on, according to this article, Texas State is hoping to announce thier new conference affiliation soon.
http://www.sanmarcosrecord.com/sports/x ... low-to-WAC
And then there were two
Idaho
New Mexico State
And how will this affect the WAC's non football playing teams? Seattle, Denver and Boise State?

EWU beating the Vandals this fall will be the lynch pin for UI to move back down to the BSC or drop football.

The Mountain West kicked Boise State's hoops team out because aside from Hawaii the Mtn West does not want affiliate members only, that is why Boise had to move thier hoops team to the WAC in the first place, I think Boise has 4 options, 1. Big West 2. Big Sky. 3. Summit 4. Re: Ryan's prediction of the future of the BSC
I think the BSC will be hesitant to take on Boise. Given their recent track record, they haven’t hesitated to pull their sports from one conference to another if a better situation opens up for them. Is that indecisiveness and lack of loyalty something the BSC aspires to have in its membership?Wildcat Ryan wrote:The Mountain West kicked Boise State's hoops team out because aside from Hawaii the Mtn West does not want affiliate members only, that is why Boise had to move thier hoops team to the WAC in the first place, I think Boise has 4 options, 1.
