I counted 9 FCS teams on there (not counting FBS transitionals):

• Montana
  Montana St.
  North Dakota St.
  Delaware
  Old Dominion
  App State
  Georgia Southern
  Jacksonville St.
  Jackson St.

Obviously the spheres of influence are dubious at best. There's no way Boise State extends into SW Montana. There's no way NDSU takes over SoDak. There's no way Delaware has that small of a slice of DE. Where's Grambling? Or McNeese? Or JMU? Or any of the Ivies?

McNeese and Southern should be listed in Louisiana. Florida is incorrect, there's no way Miami has that much of the state.

I was glad to see App make the map. North Carolina is pretty crowded with FBS teams.

The way I see it, the map is clearly intended to represent the major college football programs in the USA and what their markets are. Of course its an approximation, NDSU has a very strong market presence in Minneapolis, but in the end these are the programs that will most probably be in the upper tier of college football when the split comes. The map is showing us the favorites as they stand today.

NE should be divided among Harvard, Yale, UMass, UNH, Maine and BC. I guess Dartmouth for VT.

Yep, there's no way in Hades that the Chestnut Hill Beagles are "New England's Team"!!!! In reality, they should only have a small circle near Boston on that map. All of their Hockey East rivals detest them! UMass should have the bulk of MA on the map rather than a small circle. RI, NH and ME will always be primarily for their flagship schools and significantly doubtful they'd ever jump on any BC, UConn or UMass bandwagon. I couldn't begin to make a call on VT! Split it up between UMass, UNH, Albany, and Dartmouth??? UNH has at least been home to some good players from VT -- David Ball and the Peterson brothers in recent times. Even UConn and UMass make more sense for VT than UCH!!!!

Yeah, the #2 avg attendance team last yr in I-AA and don't even get a little speck of VA in the Shenandoah Valley? Heck, ODU looks like they have a tiny little speck around Norfolk.
