And Happy New Year - well, actually maybe not so happy - to the families of the 10 US troops killed in Afghanistan so far this year. O'Bama's chosen war is going so swimmingly well.

It doesn't even matter at this point. Iran has an advanced nuclear program, so at the very least they will get a crude nuclear device similar to North Korea. And I haven't looked into it, but there are probably nuclear facilities under urban areas which would make them impossible to bomb.

Afghan = i think we should bring the troops home gradually, but more of an end of this year deadline rather than 2014. Let the CIA keep doing its business there.

Iraq - you don't know? Seriously, you don't know but you are willing to comment, eh, sort of, on it?

Afghan = bring the troops home gradually? Why are they there now? Why did Obama greatly INCREASE our troops there? 1874 of our troops killed so far in Afghanistan...630 under Bush...1244 killed under Obama's watch...927 of them in the last two years.

So tell me, what have we accomplished in Afghnistan since 2009? Are the Taliban gone? Have we separated them from their links with Pakistan? Is there any real sense of an ethical government in place in Kabul? Are we any closer to having a stable Afghan country after we pull out? How about a year from now? Or how about 2014?

And Libya...SA-7s and SA-24s are missing...about 15,000 of the 20,000 that were in Libya's arsenals before we started bombing. Woo-hoo! Not a threat to military aircraft, but you can bet a few civilian airliners will be coming down in the next few years. But hey, let's just start bombing Quadaffi because it will look good on someone's record.

My point is that we THINK, based on our intelligence, that the Iranians are developing a bomb. Very much like our intel told us about WMD's in Iraq. A lot of the Dems like to play MMQB and say that we knew there were no WMD's, yet at the time Dems and Repubs alike were pretty unilateral in bombing the crap out of them. Selective memories, I suppose.
