All I'm saying is that because somebody has worked for the Donk machine does not make them an expert in politics and government. TTBF has many good points during discussions, but he is partisan, just like the rest of us and is full of shit sometimes, just like the rest of us.

Disagree. Though he certainly has demonstrated a left-leaning bent to his personal thoughts on issues, one cannot deny that, when he speaks of the entire system from 30,000 feet (something you and Z and I can't do), he does, more often than not, give very balanced portrayals.

Don't think so? Take some time and go back into his massive archive. My own personal feeling is that you and others here can't stand it when someone is more versed in something dear to your souls. And, of course, unlike very few of us, you'll never admit it and will, instead, lash out.

I said you can't really blame either party - and I meant it. While I cite the post 9-11 environment, I said CLEARLY that the blame cannot be laid at the GOP's feet alone.

Case in point - when the Dems lost in 2004, the base never really wound down - and launched right in to the '06 campaign (hell, the '08 campaign too)...

it's hard to say when it started - because it happened slowly over time. there were seminal moments that sparked the change - that's for sure.

thanks dude - that's always been my intent. i'll get in the pit and argue one way or another, and do so frequently - and in those posts I'm just as full of shit as anyone else on the board - to be sure.

when it comes to those - as you describe them "30,000 feet" things... I'm not posting on those with an agenda - more to provide insight - the same way Z does when he talks about banks vs. credit unions. It's his business, he knows it better than we do. (same with you and fucked up and disgusting porn ;-))

There is no guarantee that any candidate has a solution, our current slow economy has spanned administrations under both parties. I don't think either party has the answer. As far as Obama losing the next election, to me it depends on who he is up against. I will vote for Romney or Paul, I will not vote for Perry or Bachman. Not sure about the rest right now.

I noticed today that they revised the jobs created numbers downward for the last three months also, which may mean that our current August breakeven scenario may end up actually being a contraction in a month or so.

very good points Bluehen. It all depends on the match-up. I'll admit I'm not a politcal expert but this last election I was really torn who to vote for and unfortunately I voted for Obama. :ohno:  ...just for the fact of considering McCain's age and who he picked as his running mate for VP.

I voted for McCain - in spite of his VP choice.

It's too bad McCain didn't win in 2000, by the time he ran in 2008 he wasn't the same "Maverick" that he had been, the fight seemed to have gone out of him.

I agree with your points about the bases and the non stop campaigning. The only thing I disagree with is your time frame. This has been going on since the 80's when operatives like Lee Atwater and James Carville changed everything.

 WHAT?????

You are not allowed to go back further than TT's proclamation that, although he doesn't know when it started, it actually started with Republicans...somewhere during Bush's time, but TT, as stated, doesn't know exactly when. Somewhere in there, though.

TT also used to work at a carnival. He'd have things narrowed down pretty well there, too.

Anything in this general area right in here.
Anything below the stereo and
on this side of the bicentennial glasses.
Anything between the ashtrays
and the thimble.
Anything in this three inches
right in here, in this area.
That includes the Chiclets,
but not the erasers.

Good work, TT! :thumb:

I expect Obama to win in 2012 because the Republicans don't have a good candidate. He's very vulnerable but I think he'll win by default.

TT, you said you can't really blame either party, then cited ONLY Republican examples. If you want to come off as "non-partisan", it's really not that difficult. Like I said earlier, it was apparent you TRIED, but rapidly slipped into your "operative" mode as you felt the need to bury the right wing.
