Actually, at many bases the answer to that question is NO. And neither are the gate guards.

What was he shooting with, Jon? An AK-47?

I guarantee you, if I'm on an island with 100 other people and a guy is shooting at us with a handgun, there's no fucking WAY he's going to shoot for 90 minutes. 10 guys rush him from 10 different directions, he's going down. I realize these were teenagers, but running, hiding, swimming into the water, none of that worked. They allowed themselves to be hunted, and (armed or not), I ain't goin' out that way.

Multiple weapons, including semi-auto glock. He was dressed as a policeman. You know what you would do NOW. What would you do as a 15-year old?

a) the "dressed as a policeman" thing would work right up until he capped the first person.
b) I've already acknowledged the fact they were teenagers, and I can't honestly say how I'd have reacted 35 years ago had this happened, but I'm not a big fan of burying my head in the sand and hoping it all just goes away.

How so? He methodically killed 80 people over the course of 90 minutes...if that isn't the definition of being "hunted" I don't know what is.

Assuming you were completely unarmed, can you honestly say you would have charged straight at a guy with an assault rifle to try to take him down?

I'm talking about the "allowed themselves" part. They were on a tiny island, it's not like they had a lot of places to go.

Most of em are better. Look at us SD. We're the most violent nation on earth and have been so for at least a couple decades. We're greedy, fat, dumb, arrogant and two-faced.

Maybe they should have been more competant. We didn't wake the fuck up till 9/11.
Of course Europe isn't violent. Since when have those pussies ever had to defend themselves in the last 50 years. I can't wait to see how they hold their own when we can no longer afford to keep protecting them.

9/11 was an inside job. Haven't you watched the hundred or so youtube movies es posted.

Well I'd like to believe we weren't carrying the full weight of Europe on our backs until after Churchill outspent the British Empire on his warmongering and since the Germans haven't been allowed to keep a force large enough to ever stop a Russian takeover.

Ah yes the warmongering Germans. They fought exactly 3 wars from 1815 thru 1914 and 0 wars from 1871 thru 1914 while being ruled by Bismarch and the Kaiser. Sounds like a formidable threat to the Brits.

Not sure what that time period has to do with what happened after 1914 but...okay. :|

It has to do with Churchill painting the Germans as a war hungry and violent nation in order to stir up a pro-war and anti-German sentiment in both Parliament and to the British public leading up to the Great War. It’s harder to go to war without political and public support.

"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

Bullshit, you fucking liar. When was the last time you were on a base?

The world has changed since your stint on welfare, during the Greneda War.

At Joint Base Charleston, every guard has his side arm and there are sentries posted with Tactical Shotguns or M16's, 24/7.
:twocents: However, some bases are apprently more lax than others.
