Yeah, yeah. The Eagles played a helluva game against the Patriots in the Superbowl, and the Patriots were stealing signals, but the Patriots have the Lombardi trophy in their office just the same.

Maybe Pres. Obama could be that guy? He's a smart guy. Can he see what needs to be done and, in a Nixon-goes-to China reversal, give it to us straight? Stand up, Mr. President. People like you, even though you've been a big disappointment. Grab the mantle of greatness. Beats proceeding down the road of mediocrity he's traveling. (Damn, I wish I had just one minute with the President. I would tell him exactly what I just wrote).

If Pres. Obama adopted this as his cause, people would really believe it had to be done, because they know he would be going against his instincts. People knew we had to open relations with "Red China" when Nixon said so, because we knew he was going against his instincts and he had seen the truth written on the wall.
You are either taking drugs or you have an enormous ego. One minute with Obama and THAT is what you'd say? He'd thank you for your donation (the only way you'd get an audience) and then laugh as you turned to leave....a laugh that would make you think of D1B on steroids.

Obama got elected by the "entitlement" groups and he will do what is necessary to get re-elected. That means more spending. It is really that simple.

BTW, enough about the Greatest Generation. Just as many racists, crooks, philanderers, and losers from that time as there are from this time. The only thing that separates them from today's folks is that the government identified some common enemies and forced people into confronting those enemies through the draft. Today, try as they might with Bush's Iraq, Obama's Libya, and Bushbama's Afghanistan, our government just can't identify an enemy that is bad enough to get people fired up enough to make sacrifices...all while our leaders stuff their coffers.

Well I'd like to think we're gonna at least try our best to climb out of this whole and not just give up. We have some of the brightest minds in the world...we just need to figure out how to solve the puzzle.
Wall Street didn't have to climb out, let's follow their example and stick the Chinese with the bill.. :coffee:

Nothing got "my panties in a bunch." (Nice cliche, though).

Just commenting on the fact that there was a decent exchange going on between me and Appy and, if you disagreed with our comparisons of this generation with the "Greatest Generation," you could have written something intelligent and thoughtful, like, "there were just as many racists, crooks, philanderers, and losers from that time as there are from this time" without being a total perpetual tool in the way you expressed it. Likewise, if you think Pres. Obama is a conniving politician incapable of rising above his partisan roots, you could have said that too.

I was amused because you cannot have a rational conversation. It's like your genetically incapable of anything but cliched insults. Glad your life is good but I wonder if, that is true, you act like this in the real world.

Hey, I think Clucker is a smart guy with legitimate things to say, and I've said that before. I just think he can express his ideas without going for the insult. Guy's funny too, but not when he's throwing around insults.

Is Opie your brother?

So, the only thing that got you ruffled was the line about Obama laughing his ass off at your naïveté. Or maybe D1B gets under your skin so much that you lose composure at the very mention of him. Hmmm….better not invite him to one of your speeches.

Anyway, you threw your, “gosh, golly” comment out there and it was properly addressed. Obama, and most of our politicians, are elected by people who want more stuff for less. No one minute speech by anyone is going to change that. It will take a groundswell of ordinary people to make any change…and we see how well that is going. Both the Republicans and Democrats, and their minions, are bothered by the Tea Party because most people want more. It's been sold as the American way.
