I've not seen my doctor in 8 years, except at a fundraiser. I see her NP (Nurse Practitioner) who is fantastic. My doctor just checks blood tests and consults, if needed.

We're a very unhealthy nation (AZ, Tman, Hogan and other fat disgusting drunk fucks here ) with staggeringly high percentages of lifestyle diseases like obesity, cancer and diabetes. We get that shit under control and healthcare costs plummet.

You don't need to have a 'reliable' source to tell you that 1+1=2. Add the numbers up yourself. If you want to compare apples to oranges, of course Medicare is more 'efficient' as a whole. It only has a fraction of the members private insurance companies have but pay astronomically higher in claims. In a apples to apples comparison, per member administration costs for private insurance is much more efficient than Medicare. And BTW, overhead for private insurance companies averages between 12% and 14%, not 25%.

More to the point, by definition, Medicare doesn't have to pay state and federal taxes like private insurance companies do. Also, 10%-20% of the overhead for private companies goes to preventing fraud and waste, something Medicare does not do.
