That must be why UNC has been so dominant since they joined the Big Sky.

Coming from someone like you who wrote the book on being a world class braggart this is hilarious.

UNC was one of the worst teams in the NCC, clocking one or two good years total and beating the BISON maybe 5 times in their entire history. The BSC picked them up after their glory just like UND. UND has 5 lower division games this season, or is it 4? Either way its not impressive considering one of the NAIA teams is 1-0 against them. It will be their biggest game and is being hyped as the "Dead in the Shed" bowl. That is if they are still in the NCAA!

Have you ever noticed that NDSU fans endlessly trash UND even though they've lost like 10 of their last 14 to them? Truly a bizarre phenomena.

The NDSU Bison football team, which plays their home games at the Fargodome (cap. 19,287), was the winningest program in NCC history with twenty-six conference championships. A dominant force in NCAA Division II, and its predecessor NCAA College Division, they won eight national championships (1965, 1968, 1969, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1990) before moving to Division I Championship Subdivision in 2004

So DII games count, but winning a championship doesn't count? That makes a lot of sense... :dunce:
By this logic, FCS championships don't count either because the FBS is higher up on the totem pole. And until a school wins an FBS title, they have not won a national title at all.

A national title is still a national title, no matter what division it was accomplished in. Granted it may not be as big as winning a D1 Title, still a title none the less. You can't take that away from any school. That is all in the past now, this coming season is the only thing that matters :thumb:

FROM THE 2003 SEASON: JBB & THE GOLDEN ARM AWARDS!!

:+1:

JBB wrote:The Golden Arm Award, Week 1:

Started by Shoutin’ Ed Schultz in the fall of 2002, the Golden Arm was originally intended to be an honor reserved for Craig Gorder of the NDSU BISON. It has now grown to far more than that. Eligible recipients now include Kelby Klosterman the QB and perennial Harlon Hill candidate for the defending national champion Division 2 University of North Dakota football team. Lets see who takes the honors this week:

Klosterman: 13-29-1 for 119 yds. 1 TD pass. He led his team to 242 total yds. After a discouraging 43-7 loss Klosterman said “We didn't do the little things well today.” Nobody noticed Kelby, Keep the chin up and keep charging!

Gorder: 15-32-1 for 128 yds. 1 TD pass and rushed for a touchdown (3-26 with the long run going for 12 yds). He led his team to a total of 395 yds in a 34-23 win over Winona. The BISON were on the Winona Warriors 1 yd line when the game ended.

“We struggled at first, but I think we finished it off strong.” You sure did Craig, it was a great first step for a young BISON offense.

Gorder led a tentative BISON offense against the playoff caliber Winona Warriors. Under his leadership the BISON steadied and took control of the game. This week the Golden Arm Goes to Craig Gorder of the North Dakota State University BISON. Congratulations!

I absolutely LOVE the fact that you live so fucking far in the past and your head is so firmly entrenched in your own ass that you have the complete inability to even get out of your own way. While your statement is "partially" true (NDSU did win the first 16 games against NoCol), you've had a very PEDESTRIAN performance against them since 1991.

IN FACT, since 1991 (this is going to ring a bell, perhaps) you actually have.....wait for it......wait for it......a LOSING RECORD against this team you so disparage.    That's right, football fans...yet ANOTHER team that has a winning record against NDSU over the last 20 years....in fact, NoCol has won 8 of 14 games against NDSU since 1991, and that includes 5 of the last 7.

So, much like your inbred hatred for all things UND, the REAL reason you constantly make fun of NoCol is because they fucking OWN your sorry asses in your lifetime.

That truth REALLY has to hurt, don't it?

Christ, this is like taking candy from a baby. :dunce: :dunce: :dunce:

Oh, and one other thing, Einstein:

Northern Colorado:

1990: 8-3 (1st round playoffs)
1991: 8-3 (1st round playoffs)
1992: 6-5
1993: 8-3
1994: 7-4
1995: 9-3 (1st round playoffs)
1996: 12-3 (D-II National Champs)
1997: 13-2 (D-II National Champs)
1998: 11-2 (2nd round playoffs)
1999: 11-2 (2nd round playoffs)
2000: 4-7
2001: 4-7
2002: 9-2 (3rd round playoffs)
2003: 9-2
So, in this 14 year span they had 8 playoff appearances, 2 national titles and went 119-48.

NDSU's 14-year stretch looks like the following:

1990: 14-0 (D-II National Champs)
1991: 7-3 (1st round playoffs)
1992: 10-2 (2nd round playoffs)
1993: 7-3
1994: 9-3 (2nd round playoffs)
1995: 10-3 (2nd round playoffs)
1996: 6-4
1997: 9-3 (1st round playoffs)
1998: 7-4
1999: 9-2
2000: 12-2 (3rd round playoffs)
2001: 7-3
2002: 2-8
2003: 8-3

So, in YOUR 14 year span prior to moving up you had 7 playoff appearances, 1 National Title (although none after 1990), and went 117-43. So you can continue to live in la-la land, or you can come into reality and admit that UNC actually OUTPERFORMED you prior to you both moving up.

I think I know which direction you'll go.
