I don't know, Sac has at the very least lived up to expectations, and slightly turned the corner. They were within a couple plays or two of being in contention for the Big Sky title. So close, but no cigar. They have a fair amount of players returning next year though I believe.EWURanger wrote:Congrats to the Bears, after those tough close losses to MSU and EWU, you guys deserved to win a close one.BigSkyBears wrote:UNC beats PSU and get it's first multi-conference win season in many, many, many years. I'm not sure it will be enough for Scott to keep his job though. We had higher hopes for this season.
I actually thought there would be more parity in the Big Sky this year, but the only real surprise has been Montana not being as dominant as usual. ISU, PSU, and UNC being perrenial cellar-dwellars does nothing for the conference, so I hope that all of these programs can start to turn things around.

sac state, suu, and cal poly are all play off worthy teams that won't make it in this year. sac state should contend next year.

If CP beats Davis tonight, they will make the playoffs.eaglesfootball wrote:sac state, suu, and cal poly are all play off worthy teams that won't make it in this year. sac state should contend next year.

I am wondering what will happen in the following scenario:Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:If CP beats Davis tonight, they will make the playoffs.eaglesfootball wrote:sac state, suu, and cal poly are all play off worthy teams that won't make it in this year. sac state should contend next year.
Cal-Poly beats Davis, putting them at 8-3
EWU beats ISU, putting them at 9-2
Montana beats MSU, putting them at 8-3
MSU loses to UM, putting them at 8-3
All four teams in, in this scenario?
If Poly wins tonight, and UM loses to MSU, I am thinking Montana is out, with Poly taking their spot.

If all those scenarios play out, I see all of them making it and keeping out a 7-4 MVFC team. I don't know, it should be an interesting selection Sunday.EWURanger wrote:I am wondering what will happen in the following scenario:Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:

Fair point, but I guess I expected Sac to really turn the corner this year - so for me, anyway, it wasn't much of a surprise to see them playing really well. I had a feeling they would contend for a play-off spot this year. They might be one of the best teams to be left out.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:EWURanger wrote:I don't know, Sac has at the very least lived up to expectations, and slightly turned the corner. DII teams on the schedule and excessive FBS games come back to haunt.EWURanger wrote:Fair point, but I guess I expected Sac to really turn the corner this year - so for me, anyway, it wasn't much of a surprise to see them playing really well. Me to, I'd rather Weber play @ like Southern Utah instead

I am OK with one FBS game per season, but two FBS games is one too many. I am glad that Weber has stopped playing down and plays a straight DI schedule, though.Wildcat Ryan wrote:native wrote:

Re: Big Sky Power Rankings 11-8
Considering our projected starting QB was hurt in the first half of the first game of the season, our two top WR's got hurt and missed almost all of the season, the Hornets did a tremendous job this season. I think we only have 15 seniors and if the two WR's can get their medical redshirt approved, we will be stacked next season on offense...stacked.EWURanger wrote:Fair point, but I guess I expected Sac to really turn the corner this year - so for me, anyway, it wasn't much of a surprise to see them playing really well. The Hornets need to drop the D-II game. If the administration is serious about getting to the playoffs, they can not afford to burn a game on a non-counter.native wrote:I am OK with one FBS game per season, but two FBS games is one too many.
