Difference is, Az, UNI only lost to one FCS team. Montana lost to two.

It's clear you base your poll on recent work rather than overall and that's fine, you just seem to be knocking UNI for losing to an FBS team a bit much. Their overall resume is equal to or better than Montana's, not worse.

I'm knocking them for losing two in a row...just like I knocked Montana for losing two in a row. :thumb:

I just think you'd be hard pressed to find the majority of people who would knock teams for losing to teams from the FBS. It'd be similar to giving a team a boost for blowing out Bumfark State of the NAIA.

And I was commenting on you saying UNI lost to NDSU. Read your 'fact' post.

ham, all recent work at this point is also considered overall work. I had UNI in my poll but I could see how someone could have them out right now. I could also see how people had UM out last week as clenz did because we had dropped two in a row. I give a little weight to losing to Iowa State but not a whole lot because of what NDSU and UNI in particular have done to them in the last few years. They just aren't a good FBS squad and the blanking of UNI might give a guy a reason to say wtf?

Yes, ursus, four weeks in should make recent and overall equal, but obviously Az is basing off the last two weeks.

Morgan State gets 7 votes? They are 2-2 with wins vs D-II Bowie and awful Howard.

Yet RMU (3-1) with a win over previous #15 Liberty, a Big South favorite, gets just 1 vote?

I ain't hackin on UNI but they've won one game at home against a pretty decent team and lost two straight. I'm just saying that isn't that egregious to have them out right now just like it wasn't egregious for clenz to have MT out of his 25 last week. :thumb:

Oh, and SFA wasn't top 10 in week 3, but they were #11...

NDSU should be about #5. 1 bad game where we had a drive to win it at end is all we have against us.

dominate a big 12 team defensively., lost to uni on last drive who was ranked and DOMINATED a ranked team that beat a big 10 team.

Agreed on the last statement, but they are never really accurate. At this point in the season, you MUST use more info than just the games played (ie - how good they were last year, how many players are returning, etc...). There's simply not enough data on the limited number of games played. Look at the stats I gave for NAU in the other thread. They've had good records the last 5 years halfway through the season only to see them finish .500 or worse. I will say it one more time... those that choose to ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

Fact: UNI has lost two straight games
Fact: NDSU wasn't top 10 when they beat UNI
Fact: Montana's losses were on the road, UNI's only victory was at home
Fact: UNI lost to SFA at HOME
Fact: I had UNI at #26 in my poll this week

And time will tell about UNI.

So...let's say that UNI had a bye week instead of playing Iowa State, and had played Iowa State to open the season rather than having a bye.

Would you have dropped UNI out of the poll going L-W-L-B because they still haven't won a game in three weeks?

None of this really matters anyway, the teams will settle it on the field. If you want to argue polls, move up to FBS. :kisswink:
