looks good though... does it not come with "Texas State" or "Bobcats" wrote in the endzone? Do you have to paint that stuff on it?CatMom wrote:Gads, they've turned our field into a Christmas ornament. The maroon looks red![]()

I preferred it too. My school last year was one of two, out of nine, that had grass still. Now that I'm gone, they get turf.pantherrob82 wrote:As someone who is still playing football I would much rather play on field turf than grass.

Yeah, it kinda does. The U went to a new font last year, developed by some student. It's called "Wacker" (as in Jim Wacker Field @ Bobcat Stadium). You can see it better on the U's Athletic site.Willie wrote:I preferred it too. My school last year was one of two, out of nine, that had grass still. The X in Texas State looks like the Under Armor logo.

Found this from the announcement last FallWillie wrote:I doubt that's the case. I think I downloaded that one after Texas State announced theirs. Someone just made a cheap knockoff. But yeah, they're almost, if not, identical.

If you could get your stands going the full length of the field that would be an amazing stadiumCatMom wrote:Field done, probably a little late because of all the rain we got last week form 'Alex'. Looks like the pics were taken after all the rains subsided. That would have to be Saturday, at the very least.

God, I can't wait until the track is gone and the N EZ is bowled in.

It will, eventually. After this season they will bowl in the north endzone and partial track removal. I think the next stage, after that, is extending the East stands upward and adding suites, etc to that side. The last phase is the bowling in of both sides to meet the EZC on the south side. I could have the last 2 phases reversed. I'll have to checkclenz wrote:If you could get your stands going the full length of the field that would be an amazing stadiumCatMom wrote:Field done, probably a little late because of all the rain we got last week form 'Alex'. I remember seeing the plans for it.CatMom wrote:It will, eventually. After this season they will bowl in the north endzone and partial track removal. It's common in commercial as well as residential. Around here, if you want to raze and rebuild your house, you're much better off leaving one wall intact and building around it.CatMom wrote:![]()
Ok, the North endzone will be bowled in, with it going from the West stands to the East stands, but not touching. It will be like a millimeter between. It's a structural/permit/building mumbo jumbo thing, that I don't quite remember. Something about if it only comes near, but is not part of, you don't have to tear everything down and start over from scratch.

I don't mind the track as much as others do, but if TXSU is looking to move up, that will undoubtedly need to go, I don't know how BSU has kept theirs like they have. It could be kept, and add the first section of seating over it making it removable but that is a huge task and not worth the costs of having to put it in and take it out.
My question, and this may be a dumb/easily answered question by the drawings but, with that building being built around the track what are you going to do with all of that now empty space? Are the new seats going to the building and meeting up with it, or what?

This thread had no legs otherwise. The title of the thread is about all the news you need to know about SacSt's new field.Herky wrote:![]()
