Best Performance: Montana St. 37, South Dakota 18 - Like their in-state counterparts, the Bobcats commit 5 turnovers & win. MSU's defense made this victory a little easier than UM's, though, as they held the Coyotes to 241 yards & an 80.9 passing efficiency rating.
Worst Performance: Northern Colorado 22, Northern Arizona 25 - Bears held to negative rushing yardage while they fumble a game away for the second straight week.
Most Surprising Result: (#4) Montana 38, (DII) Central Washington 35 - The Griz outgained these DII title contenders by 216 yards, but 5 turnovers nearly turned this game into a monumental upset. PS: Wildcat QB Mike Reilly (from Kalispell, MT) is the real deal.

Why is CCSU over DSU "bizarre"? It is (or should be) well known that CCSU has a strong running game, over 300 yds. vs. Western Michigan last year, and the MEAC isn't rated THAT much stronger than the NEC. Give a little credit to the Blue Devils.

Didn't CCSU win at Georgia Southern a few years ago?

CCSU only had 196 yards rushing against WMU last year, not 300+. They also lost 51-14.
Yes, this result was bizarre. Here's why:
1. The MEAC is better than the NEC. Maybe not by a whole bunch, but it is better.
2. Delaware State was supposed to be a MEAC title contender this year (& they did beat FAMU earlier this season) after going 10-2 & winning the MEAC last year. CCSU is hardly the best team in the NEC; they look to be, at best, a distant second behind Albany.
3. CCSU didn't look like a particularly good team coming in. They got killed by NDSU, barely beat newly transitional Bryant, & didn't exactly overwhelm lousy NC Central.
