CCSU only had 196 yards rushing against WMU last year, not 300+. They also lost 51-14.
Yes, this result was bizarre. Here's why:
1. The MEAC is better than the NEC. Maybe not by a whole bunch, but it is better.
2. Delaware State was supposed to be a MEAC title contender this year (& they did beat FAMU earlier this season) after going 10-2 & winning the MEAC last year. CCSU is hardly the best team in the NEC; they look to be, at best, a distant second behind Albany.
3. CCSU didn't look like a particularly good team coming in. They got killed by NDSU, barely beat newly transitional Bryant, & didn't exactly overwhelm lousy NC Central.
