Last week everyone thought Holy Cross sucked and would get blown out.
Instead Weber, Eastern Ill, and MCNeese got crushed and Holy Cross played a very good and competitive game vs. Nova.
But the PL doesnt have a shot in the playoffs

HC would have beat EIU by 10+ and likely WSU by 6Franks Tanks wrote:I love this.

Hell, I'll go out on a limb and say you might be UNI right now. I'd still put money on UNI outright, but if the spread hit more than 4 I wouldn't take it.Franks Tanks wrote:Thank you.clenz wrote: HC would have beat EIU by 10+ and likely WSU by 6
I fully understand that the PL is not the best conference in FCS and in most years the PL champ will not beat the CAA champs. However the PL and PL champs can certainly compete in the FCS and do well and beat teams out of the OVC, MEAC, and teams like Weber who were last one's in.

And beat UNI by 40, easily.clenz wrote:HC would have beat EIU by 10+ and likely WSU by 6Franks Tanks wrote:I love this.

Not so sure on that. I think you got your directional schools messed up again Jon. I think you mean Northern Arizona.dbackjon wrote:And beat UNI by 40, easily.clenz wrote: HC would have beat EIU by 10+ and likely WSU by 6

Not at all. Remember, that "weak" Eastern Illinois team beat Illinois State badly. The same Illinois State team that knocked UNI out of the playoffs.clenz wrote:Not so sure on that. I think you got your directional schools messed up again Jon. I think you mean Northern Arizona.dbackjon wrote:

More often than not, the PL rep plays well in the playoffs. The PL champ gets arguably the worst playoff draw possible - it seems that every year the PL champ opens at a CAA school - and they almost always play well. The PL may not be the best conference, but it is better than many give credit for.Franks Tanks wrote:I love this.

And you can ask MrT...on Saturday, standing around drinking at Re/MaxGriz's tailgate, I flat out said that Weber was gonna get pummeled. I hate when I'm right. And lately, that's been a lot.MrTitleist wrote:Weber didn't matchup well w/ WM. Weber doesn't fare well against defenses that punch them in the mouth out of the gate. When that happens, Higgins gets scared and starts throwing the ball to the other team. He did it against Wyoming, he did it against Montana, he did it against Montana State, and he did it against WM. If the defense doesn't get aggressive w/ Weber right away, Higgins will pass all day. But if he's tests vs. a good D that knocks him down, well... you have what happened yesterday. Trevyn Smith was a non-factor as Webs had to start passing early and often.. predictable game.

When our fuckin coaches run a prevent defense the whole last half your going to score points, and remember some of those points are off of turnovers and special teams.AZGrizFan wrote:OK. Waxed is a strong word. Fair enough. But the comment about their "vaunted" defense still stands.JayJ79 wrote:
SDSU beat UNI, I can't argue that. (or at least SDSU played a good game, and did enough to make good on it when UNI gave them the game).
But I guess we have different definitions of "waxed"

I would love to see how often teams loose or give up points because of a prevent defense.Thumper 76 wrote:When our fuckin coaches run a prevent defense the whole last half your going to score points, and remember some of those points are off of turnovers and special teams.AZGrizFan wrote:

So would I. Teams keep using it, so it must work.clenz wrote:I would love to see how often teams loose or give up points because of a prevent defense.Thumper 76 wrote:

UNI can't talk crap, yet you, from powerhouse NAU, can smack talk UNI fans?

Jesus Z, your're falling into the democrat frame of mind...

No...he is a fan of a team that is worse than UNI, and would get killed by UNI. If UNI has no room to talk, NAU sure as hell shouldn't even open their mouth.AZGrizFan wrote:He's not being hypocritcal. 76, understand this: Bobby Hauck isn't good at many things, but he is the MASTER of the halftime adjustment. When Montana's offense is clicking, they are almost unstoppable. They obviously WEREN'T clicking in the first half. You saw a clinic in the second half. There's no doubt your coach played not to lose, we were able to stack the box because he became predictable in running the ball to burn clock. It backfired. On the other hand, defensively I didn't see anything much different. Montana just started to execute and take advantage of an average secondary with way-above-average receivers.Thumper 76 wrote: When our fuckin coaches run a prevent defense the whole last half your going to score points, and remember some of those points are off of turnovers and special teams.

It's the reason many of Montana's game scores end up much closer than the actual game was. Bobby clamps down once he's got a lead and trys to get to the end of the game.clenz wrote:I would love to see how often teams loose or give up points because of a prevent defense.Thumper 76 wrote:

It's the reason UNI doesn't have a title...AZGrizFan wrote:It's the reason many of Montana's game scores end up much closer than the actual game was. Not to add insult to injury or anything, but UNI has been 7-4 3 of the last 6 seasonsDJH wrote:Really? UNI just had its worst season in many years at 7-4.dbackjon wrote:

To add insult and injury, make sure you bring this up again just before the UNI 2010 season starts up again.Silenoz wrote:Not to add insult to injury or anything, but UNI has been 7-4 3 of the last 6 seasonsDJH wrote:
