Dude. The US and Russia both agreed to keep their nuke capable bombers out in the open so both countries could confirm they were on the ground and not in the air.

This is another cheap shot by NATO/US hoping Russia will show restraint. This is up there with bombing of Nordstream.
Again, don't invade another sovereign country and none of this happens. This wasn't NATO or the US hitting Russia, it was the Ukraine hitting Russia. The same Ukraine that Russia is trying to annex at the barrel of a gun. Wanna bet they don't do this attack if Russia wasn't attacking Ukraine in the first place?
Ukraine using US technology to attack Russia. That is the distinction you keep overlooking. Ukraine could not have pulled this off without help.

There will come a day when turnabout is fair play and the US will only have itself to blame. You already see the naval carriers are staying out of the Red Sea.

Yep. Russia…ever the innocent victim being picked on by the rest of the world. Totally undeserved.

I'm not overlooking it all. Of course we are aiding the Ukranians, none of that is a secret. We are literally publicizing what we are giving them and what those things can do. But again, Russia invaded Ukraine, even though Ukraine posed no threat to Russia. That's the distinction you've always overlooked. Russia was never threatened by Ukraine. This conflict is solely the responsibility of the Russian government.

As for US naval carriers staying out of the Red Sea, so? It's an evolvement of war. Carriers are pretty big and would be a big target in the somewhat restricted Red Sea area. And they don't need to be there, in the Red Sea, to exercise air superiority in that space. We're able to accomplish that without putting the ship there directly.

Of course they’ll play the victim card. Don’t invade sovereign countries and this type of thing is likely to happen.

I was wondering why they had their bombers parked out in the open like that. Seemed stupid. Guess that explains it. Also a warning to us to get our bombers covered up, irregardless of what the treaties say.

China, Iran, or any of their proxies could pull something similar to targets in the open. From back in March. Course the lying Biden admin on these unidentified drone swarms over military sites, ships: ‘They‘re just hobbyists‘.

we keep plenty of our strategic bombers in hangars. and, we would not sign a treaty that would prevent it. seattle is full of shit (as per usual).

b-2 requires hangar storage to preserve its stealth coatings

I would love seattle to link where SALT or START bans nuclear capable bomber storage in hangars.

Yeah of course the Stealth Bomber is protected. Air Force has 3 strategic bombers:
-B2 Stealth
-B1
-B52

The B1-B was 1st built in 1973, last built in 1988. Wiki says only 104 of them.

The B52 was built between 1952 and 1962. Wiki says 744 built, as of 2024 the Air Force (including Reserves) still had 76, 64 flying, and a doz in long term storage.

The Russlans had their old shit (going by their descriptions) sitting out in the open. I wonder if any of our old B1s or B52 are regularly parked in the open? The B52s ar GINORMOUS. Would take huge hangers to park those puppies. Side note I‘ve seen a double digit # of GINORMOUS C5s parked in the open when flying in/out of Charleston, SC, but that was years ago.

You do understand this took advantage of the SALT and START treaties that were between the US and Russia? This is not the victory you think this is. This is another instance in which Russia will look at this and say, "why should we trust anything NATO or Trump says"? and further dig in.

You keep skipping the part where Ukraine was killing its own citizens and asked for protection and hence why Russia now has this listed as protection from terrorism. Your version is revisionist history.

You do know the aircraft carrier lost an F18 and a tug because they couldn't defend against the Houthis. Evasive maneuvers cause both to pitch off the side. Not to mention the destruction of around 10-15 MQ9 Reapers. Don't the Houthis live in huts?

My point being the US has set a precedent they will regret. You wait until Russia or China supplies someone like Iran with higher technology than they already have, use their ISR to program that technology to strike and then simply say, "we didn't push the button, we're innocent". But you just keep hand waving it away.

The guy who thinks Donald Trump is a Russian spy. Do a little homework bro. Hangars are not prohibited.
Yes, the decision to keep Russian nuclear-capable bombers parked outside in visible locations is rooted in START treaty compliance, specifically the verification and transparency measures designed to avoid nuclear escalation. Ironically, these arms control measures—intended to reduce the risk of nuclear war—have created vulnerabilities in the context of conventional drone warfare.

B1 is not considered in the treaty anymore, but pretty much all our B-52's are out in the open. Dipshit did his usual. Searched for a reason to go against what I said instead of researching START itself and informing himself. This is why CID called him Reek, because he owned him.

The current list of nuclear capable heavy bombers under START for the US are: B-52H, B-2 Spirit and future B-21 Raider.

On a separate note, not sure how true the statements that the "chinese are buying US land next to military bases" is, but you can now see why it would be an issue.

But you just keep hand waving it away.
You seem to be skipping the part that Russia, in 2014, did a land grab and militarily took the Crimean peninsula away from Ukraine. You also seem to be skipping the part that Russia had been sending armed mercenaries into eastern Ukraine since 2014 prior to formally invading to destabilize the region. Ukraine defending its territory from Russian-financed troops doesn't rise to the level of terrorism on Ukraine's part. The irony is, Russia was far more guilty of that charge based on all its subversive efforts. And beyond all of this, you're skipping the part that Ukraine has never been a threat to Russia - there was absolutely nothing for Russia to fear from Ukraine.

As for the US Navy losing an F18 and a forklift, that's on us. Sure, the ship was probably taking a sudden evasive maneuver, but it's a warship and it should be better capable of engaging an enemy without dropping a plane and a piece of equipment while also putting real lives at risk as a result. We need to be better prepared and better trained for these things. We already canned the captain of a carrier earlier in the year for colliding with a merchant ship. If we need to keep working through the officer ranks to find good leaders then we should.

But that ties into the other thing - Russia and China have already been supplying these countries with weapons to fire at us for years. Where do you think the Houthis get their money and technology? From Iran. And where does Iran get it? From Russia and China. Your clutching your pearls worried about what could be after Ukraine's attack ignores that for at least two decades, if not more, Russia and China have already been doing what you say we should be fearful of now. The precedent was set a long time ago.

Here you go trying to dive down into the weeds to distract attention from the point.

The tweeter naming the wrong bomber is irrelevant to whether vance said thank you to Zelensky for Ukraine doing the US a favor. Has he?
