*And if the Mexican government drags its feet, DeSantis reserves the right to operate across the border to secure our territory from Mexican cartel activities. If the Mexican government won't stop cartel drug manufacturing, DeSantis will surge resources to the Navy and the Coast Guard and block precursor chemicals from entering Mexican ports.

I think that the big guys want to keep the focus on tax breaks and subsidies for the ultra-wealthy and not on distractions. Especially one like Trump whose hold on the Party base dilutes the clout of their money.

Essentially, the RNC wanted to change how California was an all or none deal, to one that would hurt Trump and help DeSantis by apportioning votes.

Davis has been all over the news defending Trump on the documents issue, so I assumed he was solidly behind Trump. This looks more like a GOPe move than a MAGA move.
