I had hoped that this would be a campaign of ideas, but I quickly discovered that the activists in this city have no interest in ideas. Since the campaign launch, they have harassed and threatened my family nonstop. I was prepared to take the heat, but unfortunately, they have focused their hatred on my wife and children. They’ve made vile racist attacks against my wife, attempted to get her fired from Microsoft, and threatened sexual violence. They have even posted hateful messages to my 8-year-old son’s school Facebook page. I know that as the race progresses, the activists will ratchet up their hate-machine and these attacks will intensify significantly.”

So, the tolerant left drove him to drop out of the race...

Other than at the high end places, there is virtually no waitstaff at any restaurant in Seattle. Its mostly counter/self service with only a skeleton crew behind the counter. It's just that Seattle has A LOT of restaurants. It's expensive and what little service there is, its extremely slow.

rated only below San Francisco and Manhattan

I know you went to a convention and waited in line to eat

but it's such a major fuck job we decided to move out in the woods 15 miles away

Stayed downtown last spring and my nephew manages a hotel there. Never had trouble finding parking for a few bucks and whattaya know? Actually had servers at every place we went.

Our niece from and her husband (both from rural Eastern Washington) just sold their house in Kent and moved downtown to be close to work. I worry about them dodging all the indigents and mindless liberal hippies...

But yeah...Seattle is practically a ghost town.

Nobody eats there anymore...it’s way too busy.

Pay better attention next time. I didn't say Seattle has a fucked restaurant economy. To me it was very vibrant given the circumstances and for the most part, the food was excellent...just way over priced.
Short on time, I had to run into the Subway on Lenora for a quick bite. A "$5 foot long" was actually $16.

American cities in general have become too expensive
Portland and San Diego used to be cheap - now they're almost as bad as San Francisco and Seattle
