I don't know what your sources are (other than Ramirez's lawyers) but apparently they did interview several of the people Ramirez suggested could give corroborating evidence - they just didn't interview all 20+ names that she gave. And none of the ones they talked to could support her story. It didn't help that she apparently went around and tried to drum up people's memories of something, if it did happen, no one other than her remembered anymore. The story that had to be looked at was Ford's and they interviewed all the people of note in that one and they couldn't get any more confirmation of the story than what they had following the Senate hearings last week, and ultimately that's not going to be enough.JohnStOnge wrote:
The thing I heard is that the second accuser, Deborah Ramirez, provided the FBI with the names of persons who may be able to corroborate her story and the FBI didn't interview any of them. If that is true I think Democrats are totally justified in saying the investigation was truncated.
I don't see how you can go out and just interview the accuser in an incident then not interview anybody who potentially could corroborate her story then say that was an adequate assessment. Whether the reaction is predictable or not, I don't see how anybody can defend that if it happened.

Yeah. A friend of mine was an operating partner for several golf courses on the EC(b). His partners decided to bail so he had to as well. He had to sell a beautiful house that he had built just 5 years ago and find a new job.kalm wrote:Flat. The industry is still in the tank. 212 courses closed last year. We were overbuilt like so many industries. The only ones thriving are tax payer subsidized municipal courses and high end resort/destination. Even private clubs have been hurt. Ed seminars preach retention of existing golfers in addition to player development.

Spot on. Special event play, leagues, and competitive rounds are all down. Millenials haven't embraced the sport. Tons more competing pastimes for Rec dollars....boomers are kayaking, mountain biking, paddle boarding (fuck those two generations am I right X'ers?)GannonFan wrote:You just don't see the younger set playing golf anymore, certainly not at the numbers to replace the older golfers. I remember when I started working 20+ years ago and there would be a work-related golf outing almost every week, especially with customers. We're trying to be proactive as an industry with making courses easier, tee it forward campaign, PGA Junior League etc but the other major hurdle is time. We're all simply busier these days. It's an uphill battle.

So Ford's FBI buddy, who she allegedly coached on how to take a polygraph, was apparently texting Keyser to adjust her story to help Ford.
Keyser was the one Ford threw under the bus for not corroborating her story.
Interesting to see how many DOJ/FBI officials on Ford's side that also were on the FISA abuse side.

Time, yes. Votes, no. I would not put it past a Dem controlled Senate to vote down any and all nominees for two years.JohnStOnge wrote:Not to me. I never saw whether Kavanaugh went through or not as a big thing. Pretty damned impassioned speech by Collins. Impressive stuff.

So Collins went from a possible GOP liability to knocking one out of the park. Bad day for liberals.

What you might not like so much is that the main sticking point for her decision is that she feels Kavvy won't overturn R v W. She's been going on about it for 10 mins.89Hen wrote:So Collins went from a possible GOP liability to knocking one out of the park. Bad day for liberals.

Collins really squashed all of the stupidity perpetrated by the left for the past two months. That was very damning for them.

I didn't expect RvW to be overturned in my lifetime, but I can certainly hope so.93henfan wrote:What you might not like so much is that the main sticking point for her decision is that she feels Kavvy won't overturn R v W. A reliably conservative US Supreme Court for a generation to come.
Yet another Trump campaign promise kept. Like him or hate him, the guy gets things done and does what he says he was going to do.

I’m thinking it would be a good thing to have a mandatory retirement age for all employees of the Federal Government including the Supreme Court, Congress and the executive branch of say 85 to go along with term limits for Congress.
