Yeah, but the election loses a lot of meaning with Kavanaugh going through.
Not to me. I never saw whether Kavanaugh went through or not as a big thing. If he hadn't made it through they'd have had time to stick another one in even if they did lose the Senate.

The big thing to me has always been the fact that this country needs for the Democrats to take control of at least one House of Congress so we won't have the entire Legislative Branch running interference for Trump. Also so we'll have someone actually investigating things instead of just being there to shill for the guy.

If at least one House of Congress does go Democrat it's going to be an entirely different world for Trump. I continue to think he's got a lot of skeletons in his closet and he'd then have people interested in digging them up instead of having corrupt people like Devin Nunes going beyond just avoiding Congressional investigation into trying to stymie law enforcement investigations.

Just the way in which the House Intelligence Committee situation would change if the Democrats take Control of the House would be huge. All those subpoenas the Democrats have been clamoring for that Nunes has been blocking would be issued.

BTW, on the investigation: Yes, the fact that the Democrats say the FBI investigation was inadequate was predictable. At the same time, if one thing I heard is true that assertion is justified.

The thing I heard is that the second accuser, Deborah Ramirez, provided the FBI with the names of persons who may be able to corroborate her story and the FBI didn't interview any of them. If that is true I think Democrats are totally justified in saying the investigation was truncated.

I don't see how you can go out and just interview the accuser in an incident then not interview anybody who potentially could corroborate her story then say that was an adequate assessment. Whether the reaction is predictable or not, I don't see how anybody can defend that if it happened.

Right now we need for the Democrats to take control of at least one House of Congress. The Country really needs that and it needs it badly.

We also need for the element of the society that would do something like support an atrocity like Trump to be defeated. They don't need to be understood. They don't need to be accommodated. They need to be defeated and eliminated as a factor.

This post makes it clear that you are getting your information solely from sources that oppose Kavanaugh

Ramirez's "witnesses" are either character witnesses, or they have already disavowed knowledge of the incident she is talking about

I'm not 100% convinced the incident Ford described didn't happen.. and I would be perfectly satisfied if he were not confirmed - because I think he is a menace to the 4th Amendment - which to me is an ACTUAL disqualification on the merits. Roe v Wade is a ridiculous distraction

But when Lindsey Graham suggested to a protester yesterday that maybe we should "throw him in water and see if he floats" is an accurate description of what is going on with this confirmation and you are buying into it completely

For someone so opposed to the "atrocity" that is Trump - for reasons YOU yourself have stated... loss of prestige, respect, making us a laughingstock, erosion of our institutions.. you sure don't mind being a hypocrite when it comes to this confirmation process

As I think I said, it's an "if true" thing. Ramirez's attorneys wrote a letter saying that some of the 20 people they suggested may be able to corroborate the allegation. I don't know who those people are. And I don't know if they are all people who have already disavowed knowledge of the incident.

I also think there is a difference between disavowing the incident to the media or somebody like that and disavowing it to a FBI agent.

If she provided them with names of people who she said were eyewitnesses to the incident as I just saw alleged on TV, for instance, to me they should have interviewed those people.

Watching CNN drains IQ points.

You are so on the money, it's scary. The FBI was asked to investigate two allegations. Every person said to be present denied any recollection of these alleged incidents. What more can the FBI do? The FBI does not conduct opinion polls by asking people who know the alleged perp and alleged victim: "Which one do you believe?"

The FBI does not collect character evidence. That's a prosecutor's job. And even a prosecutor can't turn character evidence into a circumstantial case.

And you are spot on with the 4th amendment shit. Unsurprisingly I feel the same regarding Citizens United. Regardless those have been lost in the shuffle.

There is about a zero percent chance that Kavanaugh did anything to Ford Blasey. Sexual predators in high school will be sexual predators in college, after college and throughout their life. I have worked around a few of these clowns and they always had some complaint going until they were transferred to another department, relocated to another facility, and in the rarest cases, fired.

Kavanaugh worked with many women and no complaint was filed or even mentioned. He has no pattern, and had many of his female colleagues vouch for him.

I've been loving seeing the leftist narrative implosion on yet another topic. I haven't really followed it that closely since the hearings last week (homeboy slayed it), and now the FBI investigation turned up ZERO collaborating evidence on the Ford accusation.

Narrative went from rapist, to assault, to dude being a meanie in HS, to being an alcoholic, to not having the temperament to being a judge, to throwing ice.

You can't make this shit up...and now the polls are showing it boomeranging on the leftists once again. Holy jesus, just when you think the conks are awful with politics, the neo-marxists step in and show them up. So much entertainment.

Vote looks like it will be Saturday. The irony of waiting for the FBI investigation is that now it gives the conks on the fence cover for a yea vote...hell, even gives cover for the red state donks that need anything to keep their careers alive to vote yea.

Some reporters reported the quote with outrage, attributing it to Graham, not realizing he was contrasting the Republicans' soft treatment of Ford with how the Clinton team treated Paula Corbin Jones -- which, of course, only proved the point. Some of the retractions were priceless: "Graham was actually quoting how another political figure reacted to an allegation of sexual assault." No names provided.

There's no question that Kavanaugh will be confirmed. There will be no winners here though....especially the United States of America. I also think that this will push Chief Justice Roberts more toward the middle as he seeks to protect the integrity of the Court & its decisions.

Wrong. The Chief Justice wii continue to lean right, in an ultimately vain effort to cast off the intellectual skidmarks of his Obamacare opinions. :twocents:

Flat. The industry is still in the tank. 212 courses closed last year. We just had an 18 hole daily fee in Spokane close on September 30th after 50 years of operation. It was bought by a developer for water rights.

Image

We were overbuilt like so many industries. The only ones thriving are tax payer subsidized municipal courses and high end resort/destination. Even private clubs have been hurt. Ed seminars preach retention of existing golfers in addition to player development.

You just don't see the younger set playing golf anymore, certainly not at the numbers to replace the older golfers. I remember when I started working 20+ years ago and there would be a work-related golf outing almost every week, especially with customers. Now I don't know a single higher-up who golfs, and there hasn't been a work-related golf thing as long as I can remember.
