Not rocket science. When you concoct a story to obstruct the confirmation of a slam dunk, why would you cooperate with an attempt to expose your fraud?HI54UNI wrote:Feinstein Refuses To Help Set Follow-Up With Kavanaugh's Accuser, Senator Says
Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said in a press statement on Monday that he has tried to coordinate a follow-up with Judge Brett Kavanaugh's accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, with Sen. Dianne Feinstein's (D-CA) office but that she has so far refused.
"Anyone who comes forward as Dr. Ford has deserves to be heard, so I will continue working on a way to hear her out in an appropriate, precedented and respectful manner," Grassley wrote.
"The standard procedure for updates to any nominee’s background investigation file is to conduct separate follow-up calls with relevant parties," Grassley continued. "In this case, that would entail phone calls with at least Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford. Consistent with that practice, I asked Senator Feinstein’s office yesterday to join me in scheduling these follow-ups. Thus far, they have refused. But as a necessary step in evaluating these claims, I’ll continue working to set them up."
Grassley also highlighted Feinstein's decision to sit on the allegations for weeks while the vetting process and confirmation hearings took place.

There's a lot you don't understand, so that is not a surprise. To give up an incredibly qualified candidate with really an impeccable record because a very active liberal woman accuses him of something from 35 years ago sends a message that all you have to do is have the smallest, unverifiable accusation and you can undermine the entire vetting process...∞∞∞ wrote:I guess I'm not understanding the GOP's reasoning, other than stubbornness. Local news last night, wife of a friend was on speaking on Kavanaugh's character from HS. I have yet personally to hear anyone defend this woman from my area who knew her. That is the interesting part of this, how can you possibly substantiate an accusation from high school as being true when is really hasn't been brought to a court ever in the past?houndawg wrote:Bisonfanatical wrote:

That is another point, by drinking at a party being underage she has already broken the law (like most of us? ) and probably lied to her parents about that night and many other nights (like we all did?) And after this accusation of possible attempted rape/murder she expects to be believed even though she never went after him?89Hen wrote:I knew it was only a matter of time before I started to find people I know who knew this woman in HS. Re: Trump announces Brett Kavanaugh as his 2nd SCOTUS nominee.
I’m not sure where the win is here for either side.
If Kavanaugh gets Borked, Trump is going to pick Barrett, and she’s a lot more onerous to the left than Kavanaugh ever could be
If Trump doesn’t seat another justice, and Barrett winds up being his second nominee, this Kavanaugh thing is going to look like an own goal in hindsight

This thing is a sham. BTW, Dems received more documentation on Kavanaugh than the previous 4 combined.
More importantly, when Feinstein met with Kavanaugh in her office, why didn’t see mention this then, when it would have been just the two of them?
