You might be surprised at some of the people that talk to God, and believe that God answers them. One man's spiritual answer, might be another man's coincidence. If someone believes this or thinks it's a cult, I really don't care. I just don't judge someone based on their faith. It's their actions I watch out for.
There's a lot to dissect in there Gil ^
1) No it does not surprise me that people talk to God, programming (brainwashing) is powerful
2) Thinking God is talking to you through daily events is picking and choosing what to believe is magical
If someone doesn't value logic, what logical argument would you invoke to prove they should value logic..?
You say you don't judge people based on their faith
and yet that is all that humans do - we judge - everything thing is a judgment a measurement a calculation
Think about it for a second... It'll come to you
Gil, What you're saying is you judge them favorably or less severely
that is what people mean when they say "They don't judge" something
They're saying
I've done the calculations already and I judge this as... X = not harmful or X = no big deal
or most likely here as in your case, you do the exact same behavior and so it's obviously okay
