Cashiers at Piggly Wiggly or Harris Teeter aren't protesting or walking off the job b/c they want to be paid more. There's a difference.

Anecdotal I know, however, when I worked at a grocery store, the people there that made it a career were in the office, butcher shop (making more than minimum wage) or were retirees. My cousin stocked shelves, but he worked in distro for corporate. Still does. I have a friend that started out as a bag boy in high school and now is an Operator (runs the entire store). He's also black w/o a college degree making $75k.


Want a livable wage? Don't work fast food...unless you own the franchise.

Agreed. The dead horse is where are these displaced workers going to be employed? There's several generations that have figured out America will provide you with the best low income standard of living in the world while working service sector jobs. Sure they bitch and feel entitled to more just like the wealthy bitch about higher taxes and over-regulation.

As Cleets has pointed out many times, fair or not, take away the crumbs and remedial jobs from the working poor and out come the pitchforks.
