Unemployment has nothing to do it. White people are denied positions and promotions because of AA. You're giving preferences to people based on their race and not their quality (are they good employees, do that have good grades, etc...) The law tries to legislate fairness, which isn't easy. I won't deny that there is racial discrimination and inequality in college admissions, the workplace, pay, etc... But there have been plenty of people that were passed over for promotions or a job simply b/c they weren't a minority. Was it needed after Jim Crow and desegregation? Yes. Is it necessary now? Her sister was given a Native American scholarship based on her ancestry a year after the same people denied my wife.

The people the decided who got what grew up with my father in law and know they are all active members of the tribe. Ain't that some shit.

That would make you around 12% Creek (assuming by your Great Grandfather's wife you mean your Great Grandmother) based on the heritage that you already know.

You would have had to have done mtDNA to show any matrilineal heritage, but mtDNA shouldn't give you a percentage greater than 13% based on what you know. If you truly are at 23% then you have more than just your Great Grandmother, and at least one of your Indian ancestors was mixed (African/Indian, Indian/Caucasian, etc) Cherokee and Creek, interestingly enough, are in fact different predominant haplogroups so you can get that division.

But if we take as a given that you have one great grandparent that is Amerindian and that's all, then your DNA result is wonky
