That's the entire point of AA, it gives minorities preference over others.

Do you know what this program is all about. If you think that this is a 100% full scholarship program you are wrong!!!!! The average amount that the UNCF gives away is approximately $1000-$1500 per year, per student. Back in 1989 I received a whole $250.00 from the UNCF.GannonFan wrote:United Negro College Fund.mrklean wrote:

This is only 8% of Federal Contracts. If you want to talk about something that is unfair, why did Halliburton get a no-bid contract during and after the invasion of Iraq. Name me one minority contractor that made money in Iraq?
College admissions and scholarships
Really, we don't make up 5% at most college campuses across the country. So where is this so-called flood of black students that are taking white student places in these colleges?
Induction, promotion, and retention in the armed forces, particularly in the commissioned officer ranks
This is Bullshit. The Military is the only sector in our country where you are promoted based on your performance. 1/3 is based on your time in service, 1/3 is based on your test and courses that you have taken and the last 1/3 is based on your peer review and from the recommendations from your commanding officers. So again, who does this unfairly benefit minority officers![]()

A-lot has to do with who is reviewing the app. Today you can show them your DNA profile and they have to give you a scholarship.Ibanez wrote:Ain't that some ****.mrklean wrote: I don't know, I tried to get a Native American Scholarship when I was at Georgia State but they said I was not Native enough. Halfway between a fifth (20%) and a fourth (25%) is 23%. 20%*6.93+25%/fifth = 23%. DUH.CID1990 wrote:How the fvck do you get 23%mrklean wrote: I don't know, I tried to get a Native American Scholarship when I was at Georgia State but they said I was not Native enough. BTW, I'm 23% Creek Indian

That would make you around 12% Creek (assuming by your Great Grandfather's wife you mean your Great Grandmother) based on the heritage that you already know.mrklean wrote:My Great Grandfather Wife was a full blooded Creek Indian. You would have had to have done mtDNA to show any matrilineal heritage, but mtDNA shouldn't give you a percentage greater than 13% based on what you know. If you truly are at 23% then you have more than just your Great Grandmother, and at least one of your Indian ancestors was mixed (African/Indian, Indian/Caucasian, etc) Cherokee and Creek, interestingly enough, are in fact different predominant haplogroups so you can get that division.
But if we take as a given that you have one great grandparent that is Amerindian and that's all, then your DNA result is wonky

But, perhaps I misremember your position, but haven't you argued before that different haplogroups are different races? Are Creeks and Cherokees different races?
