This isn't surprising. The Kochs have always self-identified as libertarian.

If they self-identify as libertarian, then they must be libertarian. They get to use the libertarian restroom and everything.
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

- Thomas Jefferson, in letter to William S. Smith, 1787

So Reagan was a passive-aggressive foreign interventionist. And no mention of playing both sides of the Iran-Iraq war either. Not a good argument at all. :coffee:

relating to or denoting a return to a modified form of a traditional viewpoint, in particular a political ideology characterized by an emphasis on free-market capitalism and an interventionist foreign policy.
Pretty broad umbrella there, don't you think? You could argue that past Presidents like Truman and TR were neocons if you hold to that wide of a definition. Heck, Wilson was pretty much a neocon too, getting us into WW1 when we had no business being there. :coffee:

At some point you need to put a time fence around what you're describing. Bush II and his group, certainly neocons. Bush I and those who came before, I think conservative is just fine.
Good point, and that's the trouble with labels. They can meaning over time and be manipulated to fit a political narrative.

Regardless, Reagan and Bush 1 were both interventionists and they both subscribed to "free" market capitalism. I'm not all that familiar with Truman's economics (Fair Deal sounded populist) but TR was definitely not a supply sider. Economics is part of the definition too.
