In other words, those signatories want to set/change BYU's honor code...thus, THEY, and you, are challenging BYU's right to set their own honor code.

You can sign a petition that says, "BYU has a silly honor code." Fantastic. That would be criticizing the honor code. That is not what is happening. They want to change the honor code.
