Re: 2016 Republican Primary
Aw heck, is it really changing or finally owning up to it's platform?GannonFan wrote:Parties change and adapt all the time. Not everyone in either party fully buys the party line. Heck, the Dems talk all the time about how big their tent is. Heck, even when the GOP has been sweeping elections (other than President) everywhere else the GOP guy winning in Mississippi is selling something different than the GOP guy winning in Massachusetts. But yes, the GOP is certainly changing at this time.∞∞∞ wrote:Quick question that I'm seeing analysts bring up, but do you think the GOP as we've known it is dead? If you have such a strong split in ideologies within party members that we're speaking of sabotage now, don't you essentially have two parties that are simply sharing the same name (even if they don't realize it yet)?

http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/the ... m_20160302Fascism is aided and advanced by the apathy of those who are tired of being conned and lied to by a bankrupt liberal establishment, whose only reason to vote for a politician or support a political party is to elect the least worst. This, for many voters, is the best Clinton can offer.
Hedges is as hysterical as JSO. But as always, a very interesting read.

If I was Trump, I would completely switch off the game plan and go on message about the issues details every single speech every single time. We already know that he's quick that switch things up on the fly which is a quality that I can admire in a leader. Too many times you see people who want to "stay the course" stick to their guns, stick to their principles, in the face of everything crashing and burning around them which is how I see a Cruz presidency operating to be honest.

Re: 2016 Republican Primary
Sounds like the establishment wants a brokered convention but Cruz is looking to take down Rubio in Florida and turn it into a two man race. All four remaining in the race gives the establishment the best shot at taking down Trump and I don't think they're all that fired up at the possibility of a Cruz nomination anyway. Trump would dominate Cruz head to head (unless I'm underestimating the stupidity of Republican Primary voters...which I might be.
RCP has Kasich now ahead in at least one poll taken yesterday in Michigan and you have to think he's going to carry Ohio. I haven't seen the math to see if there are enough northern/purple state delegates left for Kasich to remain relevant, but at a brokered convention he might be the favorite.

Rubio's latest firewall is Puerto Rico, which votes today. And he's campaigning in Spanish!
