The point still remains:
Since 1992 violent crime in all categories has decrease annually
That means every year it's gone down since that date over 20 years ago

Violent crime is on a steady decline / according to ALL FBI Reports

The Heritage Foundation (Republican Think Tank) as they call themselves
Busily report just the opposite however... to instigate threads such as this one

Well just so we can get all the hot button issues on the table. A good point made in Freakonomics is that the drop in crime lines up pretty clearly with the time the Roe vs. Wade came into effect.

That's as plausible as any of the other shit.

Also watched a doc which made it pretty clear that death penalty cases cost more than life in prison. Didn't go do a bunch of fact checking on the matter but since very few are put to death and the appeals go on forever that seems fairly plausible as well.

Death penalty cases should be reserved for the likes of the jackass who drove his car through the Venice Beach boardwalk, or the guy in Cleveland who kept three girls captive for 10 years. Plainly guilty. Shoot on sight.

Certainly don't disagree with that. Eliminating the threat during the crime is the cheapest way to go. Which is another good reason to support the 2nd if you ask me.

Don't forget about internet porn and video games. Keeping delusional criminals off the streets since 1992. :D

Best way save money would be to remand them to the custody of the victim's family.

No, we don't. It's been in decline ever since it became obvious a donk was going to get elected president. :coffee:

I did a lengthy paper in college on the death penalty. I don't remember all the details but the average death row inmate was on death row for something like 10 years. The average "life sentence" inmate was there for 30+ years. The death row inmate cost 1.5 x more IIRC. Death row inmates are in a special wing, they are in solitary, the cost of the appeals, etc. all contributed to the extra cost.
