Why does it matter that a drug is addictive or potentially harmful or whatever..?
I mean .. so what

You can find studies that prove anything you want to prove (Global Warming)

Explain why this matters..?

We should make porn, cheesecake, and fridges illegal.

It's less addictive than coffee. And less psychologically and physically harmful than booze. Like Cleets said, why should it matter anyway? Prohibitions don't work and if you're truly against drug use the proven antidote is legalization and treatment as a healthcare issue. :coffee:

Scuba Diving?
:tothehand: No.
Last week, in the early morning hours of Wed., Aug. 9, Garcia's heart, 53 years old and ravaged by years of drug abuse and related health problems, gave out on him. The guitarist's comatose body was found before dawn during a routine bed check by a counselor at the Serenity Knolls drug treatment center in the San Francisco Bay Area town of Forest Knolls, where Garcia had checked in after an apparent relapse into a heroin addiction that had plagued him for years. Garcia was pronounced dead at 4:23 a.m. after a staff nurse and a Marin County paramedic each failed to revive him with CPR. "It was clearly a heart attack," says longtime Grateful Dead spokesman Dennis McNally, an opinion supported by the Marin County coroner's preliminary finding that the death "appears to be from natural causes."

"I will more than miss him," says old San Francisco pal Joe McDonald, whose band, Country Joe & the Fish, was a Dead contemporary. "It's just terrible. There's a lesson here. It's a failure to get him to change his lifestyle. He could easily be alive today. He killed himself, make no mistake."

I don't like the idea of legalizing something that is THAT unhealthy, AFTER forcing people to pay for other people's health insurance. Fix or abolish the ACA and I wouldn't care.

Again, I don't care about pot or other social issues that don't affect me. I care about money, both mine and my government's.

How does the ACA affect it's legalization and your pocket book versus prohibition?

You've always paid for other peoples health insurance. Excluding this year, aside from dental cleanings, I rarely if ever have to use my insurance. That money isn't just sitting in an account for me, ready to be used (boy, I wish it were!) but it's not. My premiums, for the most part, go unused by me and subsidize people that have a greater need for that money. Mostly, people who live an unhealthy lifestyle that predicates a need for multiple medications to fix problems that could be dealt with a sensible diet. Diabetes, for one, can be handled without medical intervention.

And for fat people, that can't do push-aways, to get liposuction, tummy tucks, diabetes medication/supplies, etc......

If I contracted with Anthem for health coverage, I may have paid for some of the other Anthem subscribers, but not those with other carriers. But EVERYONE was already a subscriber.

Anthem's prices were influenced by other insurers. So yes, you did.

If you're really worried about the ACA and your pocketbook, you should be pissed at big insurance.

I am pissed at big insurance, along with big government. :coffee:

Will pot use increase or decrease with legalization? Is pot use healthy, unhealthy, neither, or we don't fully know yet?
