Not at all. The stuff about Cruz and Hagel had nothing to do with Hagel's military service. Trump, in referring to John McCain's Prisoner of War experience, said, 'I Like People Who Weren't Captured."

That's not the kind of thing that was going on with Cruz criticizing Hagel. What Trump said about McCain as a Prisoner or War was totally unacceptable. It's different than disagreeing with what McCain did as a politician.

"I like people who weren't captured" is troll level eleven. :notworthy:

You do realize that McCain probably took a hundred swipes at Trump before he said that? And who cares really? McCain served honorably and was a POW, but all is fair in politics. Just ask Ted Cruz.

McCain isn't really that different from Trump. He got where he did because of his dad, who schmoozed a slot for his son at USNS. Trump was actually a better student, as McCain barely got through Annapolis, finishing fifth from last in his class.

I wonder how he did in flight school? :coffee: And let's never forget that John McCain is the man who made Sarah Palin a thing.

Trump disrespected someone who had the guts to volunteer for combat duty then fly jets into enemy fire for getting captured. He did that as someone who had never risked his physical well being himself.

Look, I don't fault Trump for claiming he had bone spurs so he could avoid Vietnam. I didn't have to make the choice but I might have done it myself.

HOWEVER, I would NOT disrespect somebody who had the guts to do what McCain did for friggin' getting shot down while he was risking his life. And Cruz didn't do anything like that either.

Again: What Trump did when he said that was TOTALLY unacceptable and it's a disgrace that ANYBODY would support someone who would do that to be Commander in Chief. it's a VERY sad commentary on the state of the United States electorate in general and especially on Republican leaning voters in particular.

You can try to dismiss it as a "troll" if you like but he did it. It's what came out of his mouth on the spur of the moment. It showed him for what he is. And what he is is not something that should even be remotely considered for the job of President of the United States.

Oh, get over it. Trump will free us from the shackles of tyranny. He will crush Cruz, like the piss-ant malcontent that he is, solidify the GOP and crush Clinton in November. Face it, the future is now spelled T-R-U-M-P.

By the way I'm watching Trump make an ass of himself once again at a rally right now and just shaking my head at how ANYBODY could possibly take him seriously and want him to be President. What the HELL is the matter with people? Among all the other stuff he's just a total buffoon and clown. He looks and sounds ridiculous.

This is a really, really embarrassing episode for the United States.

In all seriousness: Do you defend what Trump said about McCain's prisoner of war experience? Do you defend him, as someone who sought multiple deferments, saying that about somebody who volunteered for combat duty then got shot down?

He lost four or five aircraft - if his dad weren't an Admiral he wouldn't have seen carrier duty and would have been chairborne long before he was shot down.

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

No John. Cruz questioned the patriotism of an honored vet. It's amazing you give him a pass here.
According to the links you posted he distorted the record by basically saying Hagel said Israel engaged in a sickening slaughter when the truth is he said it was a sickening slaughter on both sides. He also accused Hagel of giving speeches to extremest groups. I don't see anything that says he questioned Hagel's Patriotism. I think he's wrong for taking Hagel's quote out of context. But there's no way what he did is equivalent to what Trump did in referring to McCain's POW experience the way he did.

And here's the thing: That was Donald Trump. What we saw is who he is. He's a petulant, immature dick head. He has to lash out. Can't help himself. It's the same personality characteristic that causes him to suddenly refer to someone he always previously referenced as great as awful and incompetent when they disagree with or challenge him. Like he did with Meghan Kelly. She was great as far as he was concerned until she challgend him. Then all of a sudden she was a horrible journalist who isn't very good at what she does.

The guy is sick. Someone posted that we've had worse as President. No, we haven't. We haven't had a sick puppy like Trump is as President.

I don't think I'm the one with blinders on. And really I don't think it's really blinders with you. I think that for some reason you are trying to stretch that Cruz and Hagel thing to make it seem comparable to what Trump said on the spur of the moment when questioned about McCain. And it's not comparable.
