Anchor-Babies... why the outrage..?

Post by Chizzang »

The term isn't flattering but its absolutely happening every day in America
I have a friend who is from India who got a visa to work at Microsoft
as quickly as he could - he got married and had a kid in the US

He openly admits - without even so much as a hint of shame - once he got his work authorization in the US his goal immediately was to get married and have a kid in the US

So this quite obvious tactic is now somehow a "slanderous remark" and I can't for the life of me see why..?
US Born babies are US citizens (See Obama in Hawaii)
Foreigners RUSH to get pregnant the instant they know they will be employed in the US
Heck even a French couple - my neighbors - were excited to have their baby here - its a WIN WIN for the family

Chizz-

It is even simpler than that

The USG issues visa to folks for the very purpose of coming to the US to have their children - it happens all over the world every day.

The intent to have a baby in the US is not disqualifying u.der our immigration laws for a non immigrant (tourist) visa to the US.

You can actually declare that as your purpose of travel.

I have mixed feelings on this but both sides of the argument have points. We could simply write into the law that the sole intent to have a baby in the US is disqualifying for a visa, but that won't halt the phenomenon (but it would reduce it some).
